What style should I pick for my fedora???

Post by Pyramid Jones »

Well I am getting my AB reblocked and I can't chose what style I want I like the LC bash but that is to classy for me I really like the KOTCS bash and the YIJ bash but I thin I will do a poll and what ever is highest I will do. I want yall to be truthful and tell which scene would be best for each bash.

If you are really looking for a relaxed pinch, then LC/CS with a lower crown might be a good option?

Well it might be helpful to know your age and what your face looks like. (Long, small, etc.)

Yeah, pics of the hat on your head would be helpful. I would tend to go for KOTCS (I mean, the provenance alone!) or LC.

If you have an AB go with the CS. To have a hat made by the maker of "THE" hat is priceless in my opinion. Just ask the guys around COW what they would give to have that oppurtunity with the old HJ from the original movies. One day an AB CS in my opinion will not only be rare, but priceless. When I placed my order I had no doubt if the hat was coming from Steve it was going to be a CS. Take a look at my one year old AB CS. In my opinion they are the best looking hats of all 4 films.

As other COW members said, all depends of your face style... but also depends what makes you feel better.
I myself prefer the Raiders bash, more agressive, tight pinch, unique crease that was the mark of a Indy hat.

Indeed the LC bash is more classic, less bold. So, the CS is something in between... it would be my second choice.

But it's up to you, try to give a Raiders bash without really forcing it, just to compare... to look to yourself in front of the mirror. Then rebash it for a CS... and then see what you feel.

cheers

I've never been a fan of the tight pinch Raiders bash. Anytime I try one on, it looks like I AM wearing a costume piece rather than just a fedora. Not that I care what anyone thinks one way or the other if I wore one. It just lookd dumb on me. :?

I've found the LC softer bash works best, and the CS train block my absolute favorite of all.

That's the one Steve has used for about ALL my hats over the years.

i would have to say that raiders has always been my favorite bash too. raiders has been my favorite film out of all four as well. there just isn't any other hat like it imo. i have an a.b. from steve made from the ford felt run back in '06 with the soc bash.

i say, just get what you like and don't worry about what other people think and you will never go wrong.

LC/CS are essentially the same bash. Relaxed pinch and lower crown (lower than Raiders). No turn to speak of.

Not sure this survey is going to do you much good, old friend. Looks like a dead heat for 3 out of 5 possibilities, so your guess is as good as ours. ;)
