I recieved my Navapelle Raiders jacket back from repair at Wested last week (thanx Peter & Gemma!!!) but I forgot to request replacement of the D-rings with metal rectangular slides. Instead of shipping it across the pond again, does anyone know where I can pick some up to have my local leathersmith replace them?
Thanx!!!
Charlie

Re: Replacement Raiders sliders
Charlie,
No need to take it to a leather repairman.
The sliders (as well as the D-rings) are split on one side.
Simply bend them apart enough to get them on and off of the leather tab on the jacket.
It's very easy.
If you need a set of sliders, I may have some of the Wested rectangular rings left.
Just let me know.
Edit: Just looked again, and all I have are Wested D-rings.

Re: Replacement Raiders sliders
This site has some slides, I would say order 1" in flat black, and a quantity of four (4)Bruce Wayne wrote:I recieved my Navapelle Raiders jacket back from repair at Wested last week (thanx Peter & Gemma!!!) but I forgot to request replacement of the D-rings with metal rectangular slides. Order spares, I broke a few trying to bend them open then closed.JC1972 wrote:This site has some slides, I would say order 1" in flat black, and a quantity of four (4)Bruce Wayne wrote:I recieved my Navapelle Raiders jacket back from repair at Wested last week (thanx Peter & Gemma!!!) but I forgot to request replacement of the D-rings with metal rectangular slides. Re: Replacement Raiders sliders
I've contacted Wested in the past and they sent me new sliders free of charge. I'd suggest dropping them an email.

Yes, they've always done this for me, free of charge.Ronski wrote:I've contacted Wested in the past and they sent me new sliders free of charge. I'd suggest dropping them an email.
Some other tips on fitting: when you bend them open, "rotate" one end away from you, rather than prising apart (hope that makes sense).
I used small pliers wrapped in tape to prevent scratches.
