Wings jacket comparison pics

Post by Weston »

I took some pics of my Wings jackets today. It should give a good basis for comparison, as all the jackets are the same size, and for that matter, so am I. Questions are welcome.

http://img72.imageshack.us/g/dsc0313id.jpg/

Left to right, the jackets are:
Signature Series Goatskin Adventurer
Legend Striated Lamb, US made
Legend Antique (naked) Cowhide, imported
Hero Lightweight New Zealand Lambskin
Hero Naked Cowhide
Legend Antiqued Cowhide (dark) US made

You're just about ready to have a different jacket for each day of the week.

They all look great.

It worked for me a couple of times on Sunday evening, but then it started timing out, and is still timing out.

I post my images on a Homestead page, then "copy image location" from there to this forum.

The jackets did look very good while I was able to see them.

Could be a browser problem. Just tired it again, and got this message:
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
That said, I'm not having any problems seeing others posted Image shack photos, posted OR linked, so I don't know..... :-k

I'm not having any trouble seein' 'em....and Imagshack is the ONE photohosting site that isn't blocked by my workplace's server filters...which is why I started using it for my avatar hosting...

So...not sure why some of you aren't seein' 'em.

GREAT looking jackets, BTW, Weston...especially that old goatskin. I really like that cut of jacket and I think that back panel/action pleat construction looks just about as good as it gets!

I know....very strange...could be just browser issues...I've had that happen sometimes where I am using IE and something won't run right (like netflix), but if I switch to Safari or Firefox, it works just fine...

Just noticed all of his posted photos are showing the infamous box with red-X too.

Double checked others photos who are using imageshack, and they're all working, so I'd suggest Weston double check to see what changed in the past couple days.

I sent an e-mail to imageshack explaining the problems. I haven't changed anything since I posted them. I noticed last night I was getting the red "x" or the connection would be lost, and today I can see them just fine.

Intermittent glitches are just the best, aren't they?

maybe imageshack just needed to shake out a few bugs...

Or are they showing now?

Hey, Mitch!

I could ALWAYS see Weston's pics...like I was saying, it's the folks who have their images linked from some source OTHER than Imageshack that, due to my workplace's server filter, those links get broken and I can see them....Weston's I could see just fine...even when some folks were having problems this morning.

Yep... y'see, for some reason I was interpreting your words "nothing but Imageshack photos show up for me at work..." to mean "nothing but Imageshack photos show up for me at work... which is where I am now... and they're NOT showing up"

Sorry about that!

But I guess we're all back on track now.

Thanks Mitch! Figured this was the best way for folks to see the differences. One thing I hope people are able to pick up on is these are 3 different styles, in 4 different hides, and yet we have 5 distinctly different jackets. Subtle differences that most outside of this community would never notice, but you guys will I have no doubt!

I should be able to get some pics for you guys later this week. I'll add some to the album, and likely get another thread going as well.

The new pics of the dark cowhide are up on the Wings site, so take a look. I'll add some pics to the album when I get a chance to take them in the same place with the same fedora and shirt.

A few things about the leather. It is very different from the SL. It is very lightweight, more like the lambskin jackets your used to seeing. I really didn't know cowhide could be this thin and light, and is more like what I had in mind when I thought about calf. The grain is very smooth, the finish is what I would call satin. It is antiqued, so it's going to look well worn in a hurry. I've had the jacket for a week, but wouldn't wear it to break it in because I didn't want it to look too old before the pictures were taken for Wings, so that should give you some idea about how fast it will age.

It's so soft you can almost pour it out of the box. This is definitely the leather for the guys that like the thin, drapey look over the aggressive grain and robust nature of the Striated Lamb.

yeah, I was just about to say... the jacket begins to look slimmer and slimmer. it has a very TOD vibe going on there. I remember your first antique cowhide weston looking alittle more baggy.. but from that one it just looks like its begining to slim down.

and this is a large.. maby I need to go for an XL now because that cowhide jacket doesnt look like it would fit me. your first did.

I spoke to Sarge today and he said the same to me, XL.

I have a hero in large but the XL is probably going to fit better.

I'm 6' 175lbs.

The US made jackets have been slimmer than the Imported jacket I have. I do have the straps pulled tight on the dark cowhide jacket. The first Legend, I hadn't pulled them at all; just left them loose right out of the box.
