Interesting & cheap fedora

Post by 7th_son »

Hello! :TOH:
I'm Jakub. I'm from Poland and it's my first post here.
I found it on Polish auction service and it costs around 60$. It's a rabbit one. What do you think about this one? http://www.aukcjoner.pl/gallery/0014062 ... -59cm.html#

Welcome to the club!

One word of caution right out of the gate. COW rules do not allow for links to active auctions to be posted so you need to remove the link.

Having said that, I looked at the fedora and other than being brown it does not share a lot of characteristics most look for in an Indiana Jones fedora. The ribbon in particular is not close at all. If you are looking for a decent brown fedora and it is 100% rabbit fur felt, for the price it could be a good find for you. If you are interested in very close to what you see on screen (screen accurate or SA is the term used here), this is not the hat for you.

Regards,

Indiana Jeff

While it doesn't look bad at all, you can, for around 100$ get a Christy's Adventurer. While it might not be the best out there either, it's still a very good Raiders hat at very decent price.

It looks like a Stetson Temple with a different ribbon.

I'm looking for Indy style fedora. I thought that it's good idea to buy this one as basis for future modification.

If you are looking for an Indy Style fedora that is not too expensive, then you might want to look at the Christy's Adventurer, or the Akubra Federation IV as they look more like the Indy hat than the one you have linked to in your first post.

Christy's Adventurer is the top one in this web page:

Akubra Federation IV:

I'll throw in my .03 on the Akubra Feds. Great hats, especially for the money.
