Nowak Jacket after one year of wear.

Post by FlameoftheWest »

This is a hybrid jacket that I had Tony make for me about a year ago. Its somewhat based off of the Raiders jacket, but I had him lower the straps, square off the pockets a little more, add facings, and some other things. Its made of his 747 leather, and it has aged better than I could have ever imagined. I wear it as much as I can, and I don't baby it one bit. It sure is some tough leather. Here are the pics, it was a beautiful day here in Louisiana, so I took all of these pics outside.

Thanks for sharing. Always great to see jackets after some wearing.
I got the same one about six month ago but too many jackets to wear and this 747 was too heavy for warm season.
How do you feel about the somehow "cracky" collar ? Did you pecard it ?
Don't know if you ve got the 5 gauge zipper, but if you didn't baby the jacket, was it solid enough ?

Jack,

I know the collar looks crackly, but it's just creases, if I grab the leather and tighten it they go away. Also, the collar seems to be more "oiled" than the rest due to the most contact with natural skin and hair oils. I do have the 5 gauge zip and I have had no problems with it, but I don't zip it up much. I bought some pecards, but I haven't needed to use it yet, even after getting caught in multiple rainstorms.

Very nice indeed. I noticed what appears to be a Fleur de Lis where the tag normally goes. What is the significance of that?

Wow! Stunning jacket! It looks almost brand new! Also it looks like there's no gap... was that requested? Just curious.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments, it really has broken in quite nicely and gained a lot of character. I did not request no gap, I just told him I wanted a raiders back panel. I'm from New Orleans Louisiana, and I've been seeing a fleur de Lis on everything my entire life so I decided to get it on my jacket to make it mine.

Really a wonderful jacket and the leather looks awesome, especially the picture of the collar.
The squarer pockets look also very nice as do the pictures!

Beautiful Jacket, Looks great, that is how a Raiders jacket should look like. I like the liner, looks like a Saints theme with the Saints symbol in the liner. ;) Just not the Saint's(football teams color). I like it, wait a minute I love it. :D Thanks for sharing it, looks definately what I am looking for in a Raiders jacket, except the facings. I do like to see something different especially the liner. I am glad I decided to have Riley make me a jacket. Maybe I should go with the 747? I don't know, depends when I get my shrunken lamb sample.

The leather looks really great. To take a page from the Fedora section, let's see the jacket on you. That's the way to see the true character.
