last work

Post by jeanfifi »

Hi folks,

I didn't post anything those days and I apologize

This morning I took some nice shots outside...

I've made those whips for myself.

Still improvements to do of course, but I guess you'll be happy to watch, won't you?

Any critisism are welcome.

Beautiful work JP! (You've been busy!)

Do you mind providing more details?
In particular, how long is the handle and thong on the natural colored bullwhip?

Man, just slobbered on my keyboard! No criticism from me. Those are gorgeous! I love that matched pair of bullwhips. What length are they?

Thank you guys!

Yes Kwad, I've been very busy indeed!!
Sorry for not including details

here they are:
-the green and red matched pair stockwhip is 6ft thong and 20inch handle(fiberglass).
core, belly and overlay are roo hide, bolster is splitted cowhide (to get it thinner of course)

-the matched pair bullwhip (whichh is purple, sorry for the pics) is an 7fter : core, bellies, first bolster and overlay are roo hide. Second bolster is Kip hide.

-the natural tan bullwhip is an 8fter with a 16inch handle.Roo hide all the way except for the second bolster (which remains kip) It's kind of prototype I've tried. It's my first 8fter with wich I'm able to make easy volleys. But still too heavy. could be improved to make it maybe thinner and lighter.....
as for its esthetic, I'll probably retie the knots in the future. I don't like them at all.
here's a close up of this one:

Hey Jean! I really like the taper in the long handled bullwhip. I notice you make the falls heavier in bullwhips and lighter in stockwhips. I really like the shape of the former.

Great work!
