My Del Carpio Raiders II

Post by Eloquent 1 »

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to share pictures of my 10 foot Del Carpio Raiders which I received today. This whip is going to see regular use, and I plan on taking periodic pictures of it in order to capture how this whip ages. Here are some pictures of it new, courtesy of Bernardo:

I could have ordered any style, but to me it has always been Raiders of the Lost Ark. I am extremely pleased with how this whip turned out, it is a long time dream come true for me. When I coil it, this whip "feels" the way Indy's "looks" when he is coiling it up after disarming Barranca in the opening scene. I'm looking forward to taking it out :whip: - this is my first ten footer :D

That whip LOOKS like it would "feel" the way Indy's "looks" at that point. If that makes any sense... :-s

Thank you all for the kind words! I'll post an updated pic or two when it's a month old :D

I took it out for a "test drive" today and found that this whip cracks quite easily, plus the 'loop' seems to travel down the thong much, much quicker and smoother than my other whip (which is an 8 footer I purchased used a few years ago, not 100% sure on the maker).
