Now, it shouldn't be all that difficult to find a replacement jacket... I've been looking at the US Wings site and am really digging the Current Issue A-2. It's perfect for what I am looking for. It has the side-entry pockets and everything that my father would want. The problem is, my father is 6' 5" tall and roughly 240 pounds. His old Adventure Bound jacket is a XXXL. I took some measurements of his old jacket and here they are:
Front length (measured by the storm flap): 25"
Shoulder: 9"
Waist: 23"
Sleeve (from shoulder seam): 26"
Chest (pit to pit): 24"
Back (from base of collar stand): 28 3/4"
I e-mailed US Wings and when I mentioned the size of my father they weren't confident that their Current Issue A-2 in a XXXL would fit him. To me, I think it comes pretty close but it's tough to say without just having my father try it on.
What does everyone think? Should I try for the US Wings Current Issue A-2 or should I try something else? Remember I am looking for a jacket in that particular style and side entry hand warmers are a must. I am trying to keep the cost around $200.
Thanks in advance!
Nick
