I was just watching it. It's not in my size. It looks like you got an older AB... probably from around 2005 or so. It should be an AWESOME hat!

If you still have the link to the auction, could you post them here so we can see those photos while you wait for your hat to arrive?

Since it's a finished auction and you were the buyer, those links ARE allowed per the rules of the site.

Once you get the hat in hand, check inside the sweatband. Steve usually writes the date he made the hat.

I assume this is for both rabbit, and beaver ABs, yes? IF so, where? I checked the inside of the sweatband on my newly acquired rabbit AB and have so far found nothing.

I got my AB yesterday and it was a size to small so I was talking to John Walls and he said to steam it and let it form to my head well i did that and it fits like a custom hat now my camera broke so I can't take pics yet but when I get it fixed I will. Also my AB was in its first fight today to. My friend was talking s**** and he was messing with my hat so I hit him then we started fighting and the hat was stomped, rolled, and thrown many times and smashed but it looks better than before and there is not a scratch on it. Also the hole time I was fighting I was doing the same moves as in the Crystal Skull at the ant scene. But when it was over I was not bloody at all but I was tackled on some rocks and ripped my knee in my pants all up. At least I have some adventure pants now. I made his lip swell up and I think I broke his nose and I'm only thirteen.

Dude- I know Adventurebilts can take abuse... but if you keep putting that hat through that kind of abuse I wouldn't expect it to turn out so great for very long.

Also, remember that movie fights are carefully choreographed. Some of the cool-looking moves can be either totally ineffective or incredibly dangerous. If you're going to resent being dissed you'd be well advised to get some instruction in martial arts - especially the parts about not needing to let things get physical. :-k

Sound advice indeed. Try not to let it get physical and violent. Just try to talk it out to solve the problem.

Congrats on your new hat though. :)

Well see this kid has been talking @#$% behind my back all year so today I just hit him and it got started. but the real thing is that my AB looks good like it did when I first got it my Todd's has accidently been sat on a couple of times and it seems weird because it has creases in the back but this AB has nothing at all except for some dirt on it but that can brush off. Also has anybody seen the staff of Ra liner with the plastic cover over the decal it seems like I have never seen an AB like that.

Also some of the fight did get out of hand because we were both just mainly pounding on each other I know I at least got tackled 3 times but my hat was knocked off about 2 times and the last time I didn't both trying to put it back on because I did not want to put it through any more abuse I just am so mad at myself because my pants are now messed up.

I have only seen the plastic liner on the really old AB's, from 2004 and 2005. Look on the inside of the sweatband and see if Steve wrote a date on it.

Taking time to put your hat back on in the middle of a fight is one of those cool movie moves that is incredibly dangerous in real life.

Ya I looked in the sweat band and there was nothing wrightin in it. Also ya I know its one of the school movie scenes but my reasoning was I thought the fight was over until he came and got me around the neck and I already had my backpack and hat and jacket back on and walking away.

I'm more interested in where a 13 year old is getting enough money that he can not only buy a $240 hat, but also roll it around in the dirt.

Sounds like that hat affected you like a good bottle of liquid courage!! Just yanking your leg, in fun. Enjoy the hat! Fedora

I do write the size of the hat, to the right of the back seam on the underside of the sweat, the date I made it, "handmade by Steve Delk, which hat it is, Raiders, or Indy 4, what the felt is comprised of, pure beaver or rabbit, for later reblock info. Now, I am not perfect and may have simply missed doing that one. If so I apologize.

Wow, that one has my vintage pure rayon "iron" ribbon. Must have been a special request not to use the real deal Indy dark brown ribbon. Also this may be an early hat, back when I did not sign the inside of the sweats. Fedora

Ya hahaha thats pretty funny what was so special about this ribbon I don't mean to sound stupid or anything but I just don't understand on hats how the ribbons can be so special unless there out of the 20's or 30's.

Pyramid,

That's exactly what Steve is saying, the vintage ribbon he has is from that long ago and would have been a special request from the customer, both due to the color and the vintage quality.

Okay, you two. It stops now. This is a hat forum, not Fight Club, and even if it WAS Fight Club, the first rule is that you do not talk about Fight Club. While the fight may have happened, there is no need to keep on discussing it at this point. Move on. Likewise, folks come from many different backgrounds and experiences, but we are not a forum set up to discuss much more than Indiana Jones gear. It even states it in the rules, in case folks need a refresher. This tread is supposed to be about a hat, after all, as this this the fedora section. Likewise, EAGLE, there is no reason to bait and pick a fight right out of the starting gate. Again, it stops now. Consider yourselves warned.
