an old 80's wested.

Post by Holt »

this jacket is from the late 80's.

I had to post this because IMO this jacket is very interesting piece. Since its an 80's jacket I believe this jacket was made without any input from fan specs and just made from Peters memory maby?

Here are some more pics and measurements:

collar=2" in center to all most 3 "at tips,
NO collar stand,
yoke seam to collar=5 3/8",
yoke to bottom=18",
back panel is 19"across to 17' at bottom,
tabs are 5 1/8" from bottom,
gussets= 4"x .75"(1 piece),
zipper=21",
pockets=8"x6.5",
flap=3.75"in center,
pleats=1 1/18",
right pocket to zip=3",left to zip=1.25",
bottom of pocket to bottom of jacket=1 3/8".

when I look closely at this jacket I see the raiders jacket. It is in lack of a collarstand yes, but yet it is very close to the jacket details we know from the Nowak raiders. It has so many screen accurate features like the pockets and placement, the straps placement and them being so extremely long. the high slim yoke. the pattern itself. it just talks Raiders to me.

very interesting IMO.

Nice bit of history there. Is that yours, Holt? Where did you get it? If it fits, mind posting shots of it being worn?

Interesting, Holt! Noticed the V shape, or tapered back panel, slender yoke, pocket dimensions, strap placement, etc. Most everything seems to be in place but the collar stand and shade of brown. Also looks like the sleeve seams and yoke seams line up, but couldn't tell for sure? Do you happen to have the width of the storm flap? Looks like this one has been lived in quite a bit? ;)

Nice leather.

The flaps to my eye have that subtle scalloping, a little like the LC film jacket.

Interesting.
