or you can just go to the park, grab a duck and rub it all over your jacket. you get some nice fats direct from the source. way better.

Why are you laughing? I have been going to the pond and rubbing those little ducklings over my new leathers for years! The little kids start crying abit, but they get over it. Its very fresh that way. ;)

To be honest, i haven't gotten any peckard yet. My jacket is a year old... so, my "strategy" is to let it age without any treatment one more season to age more. Then i will treat it with peckard or take it to a professional for treatment. After that... 2 more seasons without any treat.

But you can find peckard at any leather/shoe store, grocery or general stores.

About the TN jacket, i can't say. But I guess it will react the same. What hide is it?

I can't remember the name of the hide that was used. I think it's predistressed cow. I had Tony basically make the same exact thing he did for the movie, only with my measurements.

Cowhide is tougher, so maybe you will need more distressing processes to get the look you like.
Try doing the same as you did with the other jacket, step by step, then see if the jacket has the character you like... if not, repeat the processes again until is the way you like.

Leathers react basically in the same way, only that ones need more distresseness than others...

well I liked the results so much with my Wested, that I am attempting to do the same thing with my TN KOTCS jacket. Ive had that thing for two years and wore it religiously and it never really broke in. Probably because I tended to baby it a bit. Tony did tell me that he builds his jackets like tanks, and that I was to beat the #### out of it...Well I guess this will be my first ### kicking session. Hopefully it will have great results.

So far the Nowak is very stiff after soaking it in the shower. I hope it loosens up.

Well I've been wearing the Nowak a bit more to help it loosen it up again and it's getting better. It did help break on the sleeves a bit better.

Summer finally ended, although is still warm, and I am waiting for colder days to finally start wearing again my Wested...
As a preparation, I keep my jacket on a hanger on the wall waiting for me... my second skin :P

At least one famous aviator from the 1920's/30's chose to sleep in their brand new leather jacket, to help it break in a little faster.

In fact i tried to do that this summer... but it was so uncomfortable, even with the AC on. My jacket is actually a year old... it's already a bit broken, but in the pics it's hard to see it.
