10 foot Terry Jacka
Hey Guys!! . I ordered a 10 foot bull whip with a 12 inch handle from Terry Jacka . I got it yesterday and let me tell ya , this thing is a beast . The thong is way thicker where it meets the handle than my Indy whip ,which makes it allot heaver . I was shocked at the difference in the two sizes and the weight . the extra weight does hurt my wrist a bit but i will get use to that . Is this pretty common for a terry Jacka whip to be larger im bulk than most whips or at least Indy whips ? I love the whip . I is a blast to crack and it sounds like a cannon . Thank you Mr Terry

Re: 10 foot Terry Jacka
Hi Caber, Congratulations on your new whip.
Yes that’s normal, Terry Jacka’s long whips are considerably heavier & thicker then the standard Indy style bullwhips and more so then many bullwhips in general. With the way Terry makes his whips these days, unless you specify differently with a custom order; the longer the whip the larger the diameter of the thong & handle. So there is a noticeable difference between say his 6ft bullwhips compared to his 8-10 ft or 12 ft bullwhips.
The weight of these whips along with their ridged reinforced thong, can put some stress on your wrist and forearm. This decreases considerably as the whip breaks in and becomes less ridged, developing more of a spring action. But if your not used to using a whip like this it's not a bad idea to go easy at first so you don't strain yourself.

They are my friend, all 3 of mine are like cannons, even when I am trying not to annoy the neighbors!

Guys
I would like buy a original Terry Jacka, but I await a 10 foot in order list a few months ago from Terry website.
Thanks.

Re: 10 foot Terry Jacka
Hi Gaucho,
Terry stays extremely busy, his stuff is in high demand and he is very meticulous. The only way around the wait time is to buy one of his from Western Stage Props or The AUSTRALIAN STOCK SADDLE Co. or a COW member who is willing to part with one.
Crack On!

Re: 10 foot Terry Jacka
There is no one save for Colin at Aussie saddle that really carries Terry's whips right now. The wait time can be short or it can be long but it's worth it. And that is something that many people aren't willing to do for some odd reason.
