"The Henry" Questions...

Post by drwynn »

Please forgive me if this is a "stupid" question or bad place to post this...but, while I was at Comic Con I saw quite a few versions of "The Henry" hat. I know this hat is made by Adventure Bilt (at least I think it is)...but I'm wondering, how does one procure/order one?

Thanks in advance for the help and patience.

I don't own one myself, but will steer you in the right direction. Since you are stateside you will want to get in touch w/ John Penman @ penmanhats.com. All the info is there.

Penman is the point of contact for the Henry. If your size is in stock he can usually send it out that day. Good choice!

Yep. As stated above John is the go to guy for the Henry on this side of the pond. And it comes with a real snazzy hat box that can only be had from Penman Hats. You'll dig on it.

Cheers! :TOH:

Well, I noticed that the email address for Henry enquirys has changed. It used to be switthuhn@hotmail.com . That's the one I used.

If you don't have any joy and end up having to go with Penman Hats, after you've factored in shipping and customs charges, you might as well go for a custom rabbit, if you can stomach the 5 month wait. :TOH:

Adventure Bilt Henry will be my top spend on a fedora. My other options are Steele&Jones or Akubra fed deluxe

The Henry is a good #1 hat or beater, if you have a custom, either way a quality 'dog'.

I've looked on John's website and your right on the pricing Ian,custom rabbit is cheeper than a Henry.

You may well be able to help some more if you know the current price Marc is charging for the Henry?
Got a feeling it'll work out a better price if it does'nt haver to cross the ocean twice.

I've no idea what the current price is, as it isn't stated on the website. The only way to know for sure would be to contact either Marc or Stefan, which you've been struggling with. :?

Last I checked, The Henry form AB Europe (IE: Marc/Stefan) was 189 Euro.

One feature to consider is that the Henry is a beaver/rabbit blend 20/80. The custom rabbit is of course, pure rabbit.

If you live outside of the US and canada. It would be better to get your Henry from Marc and Stefan. It will save you in shipping cost and custom fees. The only difference is there will be no AB Henry hat box if purchased from Marc and Stefan.

Thanks John  Think I can live without the box,I intend to keep the hat on my head not in a box

Ian,I have tried to e-mail again, the price will help with my final choice.

On another note I realy hate it when the prices of goods are not shown on websites or in shops.

I don't know about AMrc, but Stefan is on vacation at the moment. He sent me a sms when he was at the syrian/turkish border and he's on his way here to Beirut. And he is not accessing his email very often.

John is right, if you live outside the US, let's say Europe, Mideast, Africa.... will be cheaper to purchase the hat from Marc/Stefan, which costs 189 Eurois plus the shipping I think is $20.

If you live in the US, Canada, Mexico, maybe even Brazil you get it from John (with a box)

:)

Think the Henry is going to be more than I'm willing to pay at 189euro plus 20euro shipping.

Thanks for the info tekors. Steele&Jones it is then :)

You are welcome.
Well, costs are things to consider, but also durability and quality. if you're gonna pay for a hat but with a bit more you can get a henry... this is something to consider.
It's a question of money vs quality vs durability

Talked to Stefan a few hours ago. He was going to check his email but said they were supposed to be forwarded to Marc.
