I had received a 'work hat' recently, and as you know, OTR type standard sizes do not all fit the same, and some Large hats fit a little more snug, or loose than others. Anyway, I wrote the seller and asked if I could exchange the large for another large and here was the response....
"We suggest you try to stretch the first and see if that will work. Put your foot up on a chair, put the hat on your knee, put your fingers under the front of the brim and pull back firmly, this will loosen the sweat band and usually give you another 1/2 size.
Please let us know if that works and if that does not work, please return and let us know if you want another large or an XL.
Thanks"
I know that Fedora and Bending Oak frequently recommend the same technique.
Rrrrriiippppp!
Interesting hat technique...

I bet right under that suggestion was the caveat that they will not accept returns on hats that have been altered or damaged in any way.
