Wow, I haven't seen this much hype for an Indy jacket since the CS Nowak was first announced......It better be good as my SL Nowak or it's going back!.......just kiddin'.....my expectations aren't too high for this jacket but I'm expecting it'll be at least as good as my Wested Novapelle........right? :-k

Got my tracking number from UPS - USWings, shipment from Akron, Ohio, due Monday.

I was one of the Large size orders.

Got a whole bunch of replies from US Wings. Their customer service is top notch.

Anyway, Sarge is saying I am one of the eight over-ordered Medium jackets. I placed my order on April 18, so that makes no sense to me. Whatever. He says three more weeks. No big deal. Not like I'll actually be wearing the jacket in Texas in July anyway!! I think my other three Indy jackets will hold me over in the mean time. What is wrong with us?!

Correction, my friend....your jacket IS on it's way. :M:

The reason they couldn't figure it out was, you requested it be sent US Postal service rather than UPS. USM doesn't issue tracking numbers, so they missed it on the 'shipped' list, as their usual form of shipping is via UPS.

This per David Hack about 5 minutes ago.

SO, you are NOT one of the 8. Watch your mailbox.

Well, I got a call from UPS today and they said that my jacket was definately being delivered tomorrow! \:D/ And to allay any fears I had about missing the UPS man when he comes, they gave me a time frame that he would be here. Between 7am and 8pm... ](*,)

Lucky.

Mine is being delivered to my office, which I won't get back to until Monday!!!!!!! I'm going to have to make a special trip in.

Do you think it would be ok to call USWings and ask for the tracking number, or are there too many people doing that?

Here are some pics guys!

The leather is butter soft, mine has some natural scarring that immediately adds character to the jacket. My medium is very roomy on my body.

Last edit was to remove pics of the free items.

Thinner than my novapelle Wested but thicker than my Todd's lambskin. It drapes well in my opinion.

It is long the longest of my three Indy jackets. I expected this as Wings jackets run long and my intention is for this to be a LC jacket. My wife and I are wondering if a small would give me a better fit.

ok just bought a new large Todds the other day... so im covered on the lighter jacket side....

But now im thinking to get the COW US wings u are all waiting for.

So far I know its the cooper pattern, lighter weight supple cow hide, good for LC CS, maybe TOD.

What are the other bennifits of this jacket? I might grab one still while its one sale. Just want to know. Thinking to make this a " let it distress naturally " jacket as well. The new todds is def a cosutme jacket again.

As a quick report, mine arrived today, and in comparison to the prototype, it's MUCH softer. The fact it's made from the belly instead of the back of the animal makes a HUGE difference. They use the belly hide for all the VIP series at Wings. You can definitely tell a difference.

The interior is a darker brown too. As Dawg pointed out in the vendors section, the reason was to hide dirt. The color is absolutely wonderful! Instead of a solid dark brown, it's a dark mottled brown with dark highlights. I can see how/why this one will age nicely on it's own, as it's already antiqued and will only look better with wear and use.

I'm VERY pleased with the final results!! The production model is WAY better than the prototype, and I was impressed with the prototype!

HIGH regards! Michaelson

I don't wanna be the lone voice of concern, but is it lighter looking than the pic on their website?

The jacket above has a mid-range brown, the one on the website is dark chocolate, like a black/brown.

Will it darken with age?

Is the lighting difference that dramatic?

Never trust a flash photo. It's a very nice dark brown jacket.

That said, keep in mind how much the jacket in Raiders seemed to change color. It was almost black in the shot as Indy entered the temple, and yet looked a much lighter brown when he was outside. This jacket does the same thing, depending on what lighting you're in.

It's a chocolate brown. It's not as dark as my Wested seal brown goat, but it's a really nice jacket, especially for the price. The leather is really soft, has a nice mottled look to it that you probably can't see in the photos, and has a nice big "Indy" collar. That was one of my concerns, that the collar would be like an A-2's. The collar, more so even than the bi-swing back, IMO, is what makes a jacket look like an Indy jacket. I'm not good at self photos, but here's a few. The pictures were taken with bright overhead lights on and no flash. Yes, I'm in dress pants and it doesn't look quite right...LOL!

Crismans, this should show you the pockets. Sizing wise, 5'9, 205, fairly broad shoulders and I bought a "L" and it is a great fit, especially for OTR. It is a tad long, covers about half of my backside, which you can't tell from the front shots, but I like longer jackets, so I'm okay with that. FYI...the 27.25 length was taken from the top of the collar stand, not the bottom as I'm more accustomed to with measurements.

This is just out of the box and already it seems to have relaxed some...hangs on me a little more in the shoulders than in this picture, etc.

PS-scot....what ARE your actual body measurements...height and weight, chest and shoulders and waist? You MIGHT get a slightly better fit from a small....but, won't know unless I can compare your actual body measurements. Post here or just PM me or Michaelson. I think it looks good on ya, but you might be able to go a bit smaller.

PPS-Well, mine was pretty long until just a few weeks ago (like the Tommy Bahama guy's) BUT....was anticipating a job interview AND the hot summer sun in Georgia was killin' me....so, I got a lot of it cut off.

'Signature required' by UPS is pretty standard practice for all Wings shipments, yes.

A note from Wings on this:
It is no secret that the number one theft item online is Leather Jackets! All of US Wings Boxes have US Wings printed on them in bold letters!
It is a royal pain and expense for us to have our customers sign for their shipment and that is why on the shopping cart before they ck out we have do you wish to wave Sig. plus we also have this posted on our web site!! I don’t know what else to say or do but I do know there are a lot of bandits out there.
