Did Indy wear a watch?

The Tudor is an excellent wristwatch, very rugged and an excellent value used. I have owned several over the years and loved every one.

Some sellers will attempt to offer Tudor's as "Rolex Tudor" almost as thought the Tudor name indicates a model. This is because some earlier Tudor's used the same movement as Rolex and most Tudors do use the same case, bracelet, etc., as Rolex, just different markings. Similar to a Rolls-Royce and bentley in the 1960's through the 1980's, same car, different markings...except the Bentley had same engines often while the Tudor does not (meaning the movement).

I also prefer a Tudor over a Rolex not only for saving a little cash but because it is less noticeable and you won't have people asking you all day long if it is real or not, not to mention reducing the likliehood of having it taken from you or attracting unwanted criminal attention.

Hello Tannis,

I've had my Tiger Tudor for about 4 years now. It is a handsome but rugged watch. I have the sharkskin band.
A Tudor is often said in the same breath as a Rolex. It is part of the same company and factory. It has the same movement, etc. Inside my box comes a cloth for cleaning the watch and on it is printed ROLEX with their logo, then TUDOR with it's distinctive logo and then ROLEX again with Cellini written underneath.

Was the Tiger Tudor watch commissioned for Tiger Woods or ?? I've seen him where the watch occasionally. I had been told it was named for him.

Tudors have been quite awhile...

The Tudor "Tiger" was a promotional model they created in conjunction with Tiger woods. I believe it is a chronograph is it not? If so, it is essentially the Rolex Daytona but for far less money. I believe there is a different movement in most modern Tudors from their Rolex counterparts but you may very well be correct.

I am a huge fan of Tudor's and have owned several "Prince" models as well as a couple of the rarer "Ranger" models (Rolex Explorer clone). I have considered a Tudor Sub and really like the older versions with the rose emblem rather then the shield emblem. They look more vintage I suppose.

I think Tudor stopped selling in the US, do you know for sure? Either way, you have a terrific watch that will last you a lifetime quite easily, then make for an excellent heirloom to pass down the family line. At least one Tudor I had was from the 1940's and ran like it had just come off the factory floor!
