New riding crop in raiders style

Post by giovanniceleste »

Hi Guys,
excuse me for these pictures of this new post.
I know perfectly well that this is not a raiders whip but I think this crop that i made is a good example of leather craft.
I built this riding crop for a arab horse named Kabir
Of course, the brass knob wasn't built by me but by a goldsmith.
I hope you like it

Hey Gio, that's an elegant crop! Just one question? What did you whip the flap of the crop with? It looks to me like a very thin and narrow strip of kangaroo. Is it?

Congratulations, ATB,

Aldo.

Hi Guys,
many thanks for the positive feedback, you are very kind :TOH:
Dear Aldo, about the flap I used nylon waxed thread.
Thanks for your question

I see... Then you chose a very nice color, since it matches the roo hide color perfectly!

Thanks again for your compliments. :TOH:
The internal body of the crop was made in fiberglass
:-k About the body of the crop i've bought a very nylon crop like this: :D

Then I've cut the naylon braid, the plastic knob and the naylon loop and the plastic flap.
So i have re plait in roo hide the overlay in 8 plait and i have put the 4 plait loop and the knots.

I had the pleasure of seeing in person this whip, and I recognize that it is a really excellent job, quality, stylish and professional look as well.
Good work!

Hi Gio,

thank you for the precisions!
I wonder how much time did it take to make it please?
And how much did you sell it please? I ask that because here, in France, riding crops are often expensive, and very far from such a quality :D

Hi JP,
thanks for the compliments.
If you consider that I paid only € 50 for the making of the brass knobs, I think that € 100 in total may be a good price.
