You will get a call when they come in to confirm you still want the jacket....if you do, they'll ask you to pay at that time.

One jacket order an hour during business hours?!? GEEZ. At that price, very difficult to pass up.

Would be interesting to find out what the "spectrum" of customers are that are purchasing the jackets as in "knowledgable" Indiana Jones fans, "casual" Indiana Jones fans, and "non" Indiana Jones fans. :-k

I called one order in by phone, and placed the other normally by the website. I gave my payment info both times. I should be fine, yes?

With _'s note about calfskin being used for the Raiders hero jacket, maybe this naked cowhide is pretty darn close - and made by folks linked to the original. Very nice.

I agree, Tibor!

Although my naked cowhide hasn't gotten here yet for me to analyze....from Michaelson's description, I sure think it MUST be a pretty darn close match....

That is great! :rolling: Quick question for Michaelson; Since you have seen this hide, and it is a sort of unfinished and lightly distressed version of cowhide, do you think this will benefit from an immediate application of Pecards? (I know, I know, probably a dumb question, :M: probably pecarded the box the jacket came in ;) ) Just was kinda curious.

Yeah, when I spoke to him the other night he was very excited about the jacket. He said and I quote "this is a Perfect LC jacket". Granted the Cooper jacket was for Raiders, I think the functionality that USW places on their jackets plus the storm button snaps makes it fit the mold for the LC better. I really wish there was an option to have it made without the snaps but c'est la vie, I'm still stoked!!!

Exactly why I ordered one Tennessee, thought it would be a perfect LC jacket.

I had emailed Wings a couple of weeks ago requesting a reservation and recieved no response so I placed an order via the website today. Granted the card I used currently doesn't have the funds available but will before June 1. This is going to be my Fathers Day gift. Looking forward to this jacket even though by the time I get it I am sure temperatures here in Indiana will be in the eighties or nineties and the jacket won't see any real wear for months.

I am also curious about Michaelson's thoughts on an immediate Pecards application.

A familiar situation for me, also. However, it gives me time to live with it a while before taking it to the tailor. With my stubby arms, it's a careful decision. Much harder to resell a jacket that's been altered. :? Maybe I should even restrict myself to summer jacket purchases!

The same here! My wife always knows when I have a new jacket as I'm wearing it the (naturally cooler) basement. :[

I hear you Chewie, after thinking about it last night I figure summer really is the best time to get one of these jackets. That way it'll be broken in by fall and can be distressed to our liking (to those that practice the Dark Arts).

The same here! My wife always knows when I have a new jacket as I'm wearing it the (naturally cooler) basement.

Would it be an absolutely crazy idea to break this thread into two threads, one for lamb and one for naked cow? I just plain can't keep up anymore!!!! We keep jumping back and forth.

Also, thanks for posting those lamb photos. The jacket looks SWEET!!!! If that is the same liner as the cow, I'm excited, as this is my first satin lining (unless you count my Wested sleeves).

Make that 3 threads, don't forget the striated lamb. ;) :TOH:

See? This is what I'm on about. I can't keep up! One post is talking about naked cow, the next posting prototype photos of the lamb, and then someone jumps in talking about snaps on a kangaroo (where I'm from, Kangaroos only have velcro and zippers!).

Oh...by the way...Sarge has told me that when they do the jacket runs that will use the 80s Cooper patterns (larger collar, smaller pockets-like the pics of the Cooper jacket RC put up)...he is NOT going to have the side straps going all the way into the handwarmer pockets like the patterns dictate...nor going into the back panel...he's going to keep the side straps like they are on all Wings jackets...but EVERYTHING else will be early Neil Cooper pattern.

All this collar business is getting me confused. Regarding the Naked Cowhide and NZ lambs shipping in June; are the collars bigger or smaller than the normal Wings jackets? Are these Cooper collars or no? And are they the same or different from the website photos?

Sorry if we're going in circles, but as others have said, too much is overlapping.

yes...and I'm afraid we'll just have to wait for Michaelson to get back and sort things out...

But...the jacket that Michaelson got and reviewed is the naked cowhide..that's what you'll be expecting from that jacket.

The lightweight new zealand lamb is using the standard Wings pattern...so no changes in pattern there.

Pattern changes are coming with the striated lamb and horsehide later this summer.

But Michaelson said something about "a different collar" and I've been melting my eyes trying to track the story since then. Sometimes it sounds like the collar he saw is not what we're getting, other times like it is. Or at least that's the effect of this thread and it's cousins (not your fault, I realize). Mild ADD isn't helping me, either.

I'm right there with you Chewie. When I spoke to Michaelson on the phone about the jacket the first thing he said that popped out at him was the collar. 3 inch flare tips to 2 inch neck is what he measured. I've written Sarge about it, since it was only the prototype that Michaelson had, asking if the collar was indeed different and haven't heard anything back yet. So, we're kind of at the mercy of the mail right now... 2 weeks and we'll know everything ;)

Michaelson also told me that Sgt. confirmed to him they're seriously looking at a new soft horsehide, and he's really pleased this is moving search is moving forward.

Mpw I need something stronger than tequila though... maybe a double of Chivas on the rocks with a splash of water :-k

You're right. It's just all this talk is twisting my "new toy" anticipation into worry. ](*,) But Sarge has already said he'll take returns gladly if we don't like what we get. If I don't like the collar, I'll just send it back. So... why worry? June 1st is almost here, anyway.
