Do what I do...tack the chart on the wall and throw your best dart!
...but seriously, 2 main measurements, actually one, with U-S-Dub-ya!
Find your best fitting jacket and zip it or button it. Measure across the arm pit from seam to seam. Align that number with the chart. If say that number is 24 inches, then you will know that 24 doubled is 48 total inches around the torso of the jacket. I wear a 44, so I'll have 4" of slack.
Since the sleeves are standardized, not much you can do about that.
The jacket length, from the bottom of the collar stand to the end of the jacket is for the most part, standardized as well. So you will get a jacket with a back length of about 27 inches, depending on your size.
All in all, this jacket will make a better LC jacket than a Raiders jacket, the Raiders being more form fitting.
Hope that helps.

That actually sound like good advice. Overall, US Wings jackets seem to run a little big, but individual comfort ranges will vary.

Do what I'm considering; order (for me anyway) a XL and XXL and see which one fits best. Then either sell the other here or return to USW.

Re: U S Wings Jacket sizes
I just got a VIP a couple weeks ago in a Medium. I usually wear a 40 and it fits me like a 42. If I knew how to post pics I would do so. but I can't figure it out.

Here you go sharkie...dunna...dunna...(Jaws music)...
You have to first post the pics on an account like photobucket.com
click this....
(this is in the usual text post/reply that you would make in this thread)
In between the: post the link to the photo from photobucket
it should look something like this....

...with that, I think I'll get out of the water, FAST!

Re: U S Wings Jacket sizes
The chart is fairly accurate, but for best fit look at the upper size given as that is closest to the size the jacket is cut for.IndySmith wrote:Im going to be ordering one of the US Wings Indy jackets. How accurate is their sizing chart? I just wanna make sure I order the right size.
For example, if the chest size range is 40 to 44, it will be more like a 44 fit than a 40 fit.

Make sure there are no "...." between the "img img" or anything for that matter except for the link to the photo.JC1972 wrote:TS, no pic comes up.
I just did that because it was about the only way it could be displayed.
Try this, JC. Go into my earlier post by pressing "Quote". Go to the image and remove the "....". It should allow you to post the image.
To post your own photos: In Photobucket, hold your pointer over the photo. You get a few drop down references. Make sure you copy the "Direct Link" by clicking the "http" address inside the "Direct Link". Paste this link in between the [ img ] [ /img ]. That should be about it.

Re: U S Wings Jacket sizes
My US Wings "VIP" jacket is marked size M, and seems to be an almost perfect size 40, would be a "relaxed" 38. I posted a review with photos back in December.

That was my experience with the Medium as well, ron...I wear a 40 in most coats....sometimes a 42, depending on the cut.
The medium fit me perfectly with a little room to layer if needed.

I just noticed on US Wing's website that they do not do exchanges or returns for non-US orders (except for armed forces orders.)
"Important Info...
All sales outside the USA are final. No returns or exchanges. Duty fees may apply. For detailed information regarding US Wings sales outside the USA, please read our Foreign Policy and our Return Policy. "

Re: U S Wings Jacket sizes
I figured I'd throw this out there in case anyone else is of a similar size to me.
I have been talking with Sarge and Myke from US Wings, and based on my 5'10" height and 215 lb max weight, combined with my jacket size which is exactly between 44 and 46R (45R?), they recommend that I buy the XL jacket.
I hope that will be of help to any similarly sized guys.

Re: U S Wings Jacket sizes
If you don't mind, would you post pics of the fit once you get it? I'm 5'9, 205 with an athletic build and between a 44R and 46R, too. I was going to order the US Wings $199.00 jacket made from cowhide, but then I got a look at their sizing chart and it seemed that the L would fit best everywhere except the shoulders (too small), and that the XL was going to be a bit too big everywhere.

Of course I will! I imagine in a few weeks there will be a LOT of pics on here!Rick Deckard wrote:If you don't mind, would you post pics of the fit once you get it?
