Ordered a Todd's MK VII, now...
Just ordered a Todd's MK VII with a 65" Strap (as I'm 6' Even), I heard somewhere that I should of ordered it with a 72" for Correct Buckle Placement. I know there's better ones, but as with My Christy's, just watching the Mad Money for now. As this will be used for actual hauling of stuff, has anyone worked with 65", and found it okay? Thank you, again, in advance.

Re: Ordered a Todd's MK VII, now...
I'm 5'9" and have two of Todd's 65" straps and they have worked fine for me. Granted you are a bit taller than I am, but I believe Harrison is around 6' and I think the straps in the films were 65", although I'm not 100% sure on that.
Hope that helps some though.

I used a WPG strap with water, etc. in the bag when on the dig, and it stretched a bit to a just right length. The Todd's strap is thicker, but with perspiration and some weight, it too might stretch. I've owned a Todd's, and if i had to do it over again, I would have preferred the 72". With regular use it may stretch for you.

Received it yesterday, they actually sent the 72" instead of the 65", so buckle sits perfectly!

Glad to hear the strap fits right.
So what do you think of Todd's bag? I have an original and a WPG repro, but I'm curious as to what Todd's is like.
Enjoy your new bag!

The material is as durable as any Military Issued Items I carried years ago. The strap is very well made and accurate to color IMO. As I'm new to this, I'm sure there are different opinions, but it will work for me, and my limited "Mad Money"/Budget.

Glad to hear it's sturdy. I've been thinking about getting another bag and was thinking about one of Todd's, so that's good to hear.
Enjoy it.

I had both and thought that the Todd's was the more accurate piece.

TS, you mean that the Todd's is more accurate than WPG?
If so, that's good to know.

Re: Ordered a Todd's MK VII, now...
Recently on the dig (three weeks), I used a WPG strap and a Todd's bag and both held up nicely, worthy of 'adventure gear'. The strap was very dry when i received it, so I treated it with leather lotion and it seemed to loosen it up some. I had them both and compared them side by side and just really liked Todd's version. I used it to carry all sorts of stuff. The WPG strap was also on the short side, but as stated, with perspiration and weight, it stretched to the right length, so even if it is slightly short (say 2-3 in.) and you use it, with weight, it will stretch to the right length. Todd's strap is also heavy duty and thicker than the WPG, but it was just a preference thing.
John I was curious if you were pleased that the 72" strap was sent instead?

Sorry TS, I thought you meant you had both the WPG and Todd's bag. I have both straps, and yes I think Todd's is a very good strap for the money. Sorry about that.

I did have both bags and both straps. I wound up selling the WPG bag on here and included the Todd's strap with it, since it was slightly too short for me.

Re: Ordered a Todd's MK VII, now...
From what I'd seen, I thought that Todd's looked a little better than the WPG. Good to have that confirmed.
Thanks,

Re: Ordered a Todd's MK VII, now...
I'm very happy with The Todd's 72", as it sits perfectly to where it was usually worn in the film (both the bag placement and buckle location). It was also shipped to me the same day I phoned the order-in, so it arrived fast...

I've said it before - I really like the Todd's strap and buckle in 72" length.

Todd's 72" is also good if you're on the heavy side. Especially if you like a lower-slung bag.
I currently own 3 of Todd's straps, including an early one that I thought was rather thin and weak. I'm still using that one 4 years later as my "everyday" strap.

I´m 6´1", I own Todd´s bag with the 65" strap and the "buckleplacement" came naturally when tried it on the first time. Why it should bother anybody is beyond me...

Some maybe tall but have a short body. Height does not have as much to do with it as torso.
