Of course compare this training with his training for KOTCS and he's never been better prepared. Sad almost all of it didn't make it to screen.

I always would watch that one in the making of Temple of Doom where he cracks the cup off of the plant. That one is really cool

My favourite trick is pulling out Thugee sword with the whip. I'm curious how many times did they try to do that :-k
Here, Anthony De Longis does that trick:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSb_hTRM8WU (~2 min 40s)

Here, at the beginning of the video is pulling out a gun using whip scene from CS:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EGtXzir ... 399OOcmoBc (~36s)
As you can see, whip wrapped pretty hard.

I don't think so, take a look at that scene, it consists of few shots, just well edited, that's power of cinema ;)

One thing is for sure, that is no 10ft. Looks like a six, maybe eight footer. ;)

Tomek,

Thanks for posting these links here. I have not seen those videos in over 18 years; they brought back a lot of fond memories!

Ditto what Dan said.

I've always thought Mr Ford had excellent style. Especially the shot of him practising on the back lot. Ah, brings back memories. I filmed some of these documentary shots off the TV screen with an 8mm camera when I was a teenager, and would study the whip cracking action slowly on an editor screen as I had to teach myself how to crack a whip. I must have been one of the most dedicated David Morgan whip enthusiasts in Australia back then.
