Looking good Gio. Black whips are hard to photograph aren't they!! Are those the movie specs? It's not a whip I know much about. In fact who made the original?

Terry Jacka, I think. It was one of his standard bulls with 10" handle, without wrist loop. Please, correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi Nick,
thanks for the compliments :TOH:
you're right about the color..... black whips are always difficult to photograph.
Believe me I have done 12 more photos before I post these photos.
About the original whipmaker I know that was terry jacka.
Thanks

You might get clearer pics taken outdoors under indirect light. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing more pics. :whip:

The whip looks good overall, but the diameter should be MUCH thicker.

This is my first and only attempt at a catwoman style whip. Even outdoors it's not easy to get a good pic!

Yes, Terry Jacka made them. Here is mine. One of the most fun whips I have ever owned and cracked!

Neat.

Terry Jacka did indeed make the original whips for Batman Returns which where ordered though David Morgan. Much like the Indy whips though the design of these Australian/Batman Returns style whips have changed considerably over the years, here is an example though of what the whips Michelle used looked like.

This was my first Terry Jacka whip purchased back in the 90's, it’s still one of my favorites.

You are right the diameter of this whip is thin.
I have always known that this model of whip had only one internal plaited belly. :-k
correct me if I'm wrong.
Regards
Gio

Ps:
this old photo is more clear and was my first attempt to "Michelle whip "
Also this whip was made with one plaited belly
sorry for the blue effect

It looks thinner than the Jacka to me, but I think it may be very fun to crack!!!

Thanks for posting that Dan :TOH: . Wow what a ring knot on that one! I noticed recently that these whips are no longer posted for sale on David's site. Looks like you can only get them through Terry's own site now. I consider myself very lucky to own a 10ft and 8ft of these. Sorry Gio, I did not mean to hijack the thread  . Now back to our regularly scheduled programming....

I have a nice reference photo taken from one of the original whips used in the film. Maybe I should post it for you to see when I get time.

I agree with BullWhipBorton, that the Catwoman whip by Terry changed some aspect of the 90 year to today, but I think the model of Giovanni, although a little thinner reflects the very recent model of the same whip.
Here a picture of my 6ft Terry Jacka Catwoman purchased last year.
The handle is similar.

Borton's Jacka is before he REALLY started doing that "Progressive Flexibility" transition area, and before he replaced the cane foundation with fiberglass rod, (Dan, you've got a more recent Jacka "Straight Handle" too, don't you?) Chris Camp has one from about the same era, and compared to the "Modern" Jacka's, it's like a completely different whip!

I've got one from probably about 1999-2000, (HEAVY transition and fiberglass foundation,) and it is STILL stiff as can be in the transition zone. The rest of the length of the thong, however is just fluid as can be.

So, yeah...A lot has changed in Terry's design...

Not a thing has changed in quality though ;)

All the best, and happy cracking!

lelec2, I like that whip a lot. How does it handle? Heavy? Light? Stiff?

[quote = "WhipDude"] lelec2, mi piace la frusta molto. Come gestire? Pesante? Light? Stiff? [/ Quote]

Thank you for your appreciation.
My favorite is a short-handled whip, but recognize that it is lightweight, flexible, fast
cracked like thunder and a whip of that type can crack in every way and have fun :whip:
Neck-body transition whip I find it very hard!

lelec2,

My eight footer looks just like yours. It cracks WAY louder than my 10ft does, go figure... :-k . I will post a pic of it when I get home tonight. WhipDude, I would like to see that photo you mentioned when you have a chance.
