New Wested Goat

Post by rbxb »

Just got new Wested Goat from CeeJay.
Now that I have experience with Wested Lambtouch, Goatskin and other Cooper / Avirex Leathers I'll share what I've learned.

My 1st "Indy" was a Disney Large. It was a nice well made jacket I belive to be cowhide - It looked "roughout", almost a suede. It was very heavy & too big. I sold it

My personal Indy is my first Wested - a Raiders in Lambstouch size 40 Reg. I wear a 42 but it fits perfect. Lambstouch is buttery soft , very light in weight. The color is a rich dark brown.

The newly acquired Wested Raiders is a Goat in a 40 Reg Although it is smaller than my other 40 reg (Wested Is a custom fit)
The color is also dark rich brown. It is definitely heavier & a bit stiffer than the Lambtouch. Its NOt as stiff as my US Wings A-2.

The goat would be too hot for Cairo in the summer & more suited for Nepal.

My choice, considering screen accuracy, fit & finish, color, & practicality would be WESTED LAMBSTOUCH. Peter has it goin on!

Its too bad they have discontinued tle Lambstouch

I hope this helps anybody out there hunting for one.

Before I ordered my goat, the Lambtouch was my #1 choice. I chose the goat because I wanted the "Authentic" colour to match my Lambskin so no one would notice the switch of jackets when the wheather got colder. It worked as people loved my Lambskin and gave compliments, but nothing on the goat. They just assumed it's the same jacket.

It's just too bad I wouldn't be able to try the Lambtouch, it sounds like a really good skin.

You'll be happy with the goat. That would be my choice If I ordered one from Peter.

BTW For this post - Although I have no experience with the Flightsuits they appear to be too long ( I prefer a shorter cut for adventure) & way too overpriced.
Wested is the REal Deal!

Cheers to ya Peter . "May the fleas of a thousand camels never infect your armpits!" Keep offering the best in custom leather to us working shlubs!

Mr. Das, I believe you'll like the goat as well---tough as nails and water-repellant. You can't beat it!

rbsb--I loved Johnny Carson's humorous delivery too! Haven't heard that one in a loooong time!

Cheers,

I.J.

Congrats on your new jacket. I think once you wear the goat for awhile
it will become your favorite. Very tough for it's weight and handles
the elements with ease. Enjoy!

I actually already have the goat. Had it for awhile now. You probably just read the first part of my story
