That an LC cyrano? Looks good if it is. Looks like a lambskin to me but that could be horsehide. Looks nice, great looking jacket.

Jack, how old is that one? Did you send your own specs? It doesn't look like the usual Wested pattern.

The leather grain & shine is reminiscent of soft goat, though it could be HH or lamb?

My money is on a soft goat hide, standard pattern LC, no modifications.

Couldn't be LC, no visible snaps..and the collar ends do not point toward the front..? Rotla, slimmer pattern would be my guess. :-k

Did you look at the pocket flaps, looks very LC to me. Even the pocket size is a very good LC size. Although it could be a Raiders I did not order the jacket. LC cyrano??

Not only does it have no snaps, the collar stand extends over the storm flap. Definitely Raiders pattern. The leather looks nice, and the pocket flaps look fabulous (I can't stand the skinny flaps Wested jackets used to have).

Please enlighten us:
What leather is that? What pattern and modifications did you order?

Inquiring minds want to know...

the pockets look identical to my pockets I have on my brand new jacket cut in the wrong leather. if cyrano's jacket isnt to old then it probabaly means they used my pocket diagram I sent them. it looks identical. even the size.

That's part of what made me thing LC at first. And the collar looks big for a Raiders, but that could be an illusion based on how big or small a person's neck and head are.

Cyrano, can you give us a little background on this jacket. Did you order it with Holt's specs (nothing wrong with that, there's a Wested HH behind me with his yoke specs) or has Peter incorporated them into his standard pattern now?

Rudolf

Your goat made me take the plonge for that jacket, thanks a lot.

This soft goat is even thiner, softer than the one Peter offered couple of years ago

fairly close to dk brown lamb (weight, thickness, drape). This goat doesn't behave like the ordinary one

Seems to evoluate faster ! grain poping out, shiness and stiffness fading away .

It seems to have all the qualities of lamb ! just hope it wont get to much of its drawbacks (fragility and shrinkage)

The cut : custom raiders. My only dig

Didnt provided any specs but my usual pockets size 6/8

They are the vary same I always get, very same placement aswell, straps are absolutely idendical to my former jackets.

But ... strange pointy pocket flap i never got before, don't have a clue where it comes from !

Now then, what struck me : the collar ! definitely biger than on my former jackets (an inch ? got to take measurements)

That does change the whole thing !

So the big question Rudolf went along : "New pattern ?" If so that could be the one quite a few people have been waiting for...

Great looking jacket. Something about it, maybe the square look of the shoulders and the leather, make it look very A2. In view of the lambasting Wested has suffered here of late, it's good to see they're still putting out top gear.

if you payed a normal price then this is not the new pattern. not the ''hero'' as I know that that jacket will be double if not almost tripple its normal price.

so, it really looks like they used my ''Holt'' specs on the collar since you mentioned the collar. my collar specs is bigger then normal standard pattern.

funny how other people get good jackets the first time and I just need to send back mistakes... im glad you got what you wanted! :)

yes, the soft goat is wonderfull stuff. just wait until it breaks in. I have exact the same skin.

can we see the back of the jacket?

I didn't get what I wanted. I get what I asked for.

That's my whole point !

Unfortunatly far too many jackets to account for that in my closet.

My collar is 2 inches longer than on my other jackets, 2 inches ! The collar stand is 1 inch longer.

How on earth such a drastic change is it possible without a thorough change in the pattern of the jacket ?

Don't ask me to measure every panel of it

Holt, I owe you more than my collar

Your work allowed a major breakthrough in our endless quest

You deserve respect for that. (you'll get your pics. Lack of time)

I don't recall anyone, anywhere, ever saying that Wested couldn't turn out a good jacket. The question is why can't they with any kind of consistency. If I wanted to gamble with my money, I'd go to Vegas, not order an Indy jacket.

What is confusing for me now, is Jack says he didn't ask for these differences, such as collar and pocket flaps.
Other people here just got a custom Raiders from Wested, such as Ravenswood and tomek, and their jackets do not have these collar and pocket flap details. So is jack's jacket a new pattern or an anomaly?

As Holt asks, could you post a photo of the back please?

yep. right. if your collar is 2'' longer its mine.

I think they mixed my jacket specs like yoke/backpanel/collar pattern/pocket placement with his own jacket requests.

oh I just think that good'ol Peter realizes how popular the longer collar is on the raiders jacket and puts it on every jacket. I think ravenswood got the longer collar to. looks like it.

First of all, I can't believe that is goatskin. It looks nothing like my goatskin Wested from two years ago. Cyrano, your jacket looks really great. Is that authentic brown or dark brown?

Second of all, why are people getting custom specs they didn't even order in the first place. I mean, it worked out well in this case, but what gives? People are spending money and have no idea what to expect when the finished product arrives in the mail.

Forest, the goatskin from a couple of years ago was quite heavy stuff. I believe this newer goat is similar in weight and thickness to lamb, but tougher as is natural with goat. So it drapes better.

I became addict to that kind of gamble.

Where did I read "To kill a man give him what he wants" ?

Ordering a Nowak was an expensive gamble.

I could trust hundreds praises but I've read thousands of delirious praises about Peter's from members swearing he was God.

It certainly is an understatement that his very name ever since hase lost some of his shine.

I was satisfy with my Nowak. I would like to be sure I would have spent that money if I had found my jacket in Tony's shop.

Please don't get me wrong. Nothing could hurt me more than to be seen as some Wested submarine turning up as Peter is having a hard time around.

I am kind of a sensitive guy who slamed the door and quited for good with my photoalbum under the arm when Holt simply told me I was off topic ...

It took me some time to find a suitable answer.

Your compliment is praiseless. Your "reincarnation ?" of Indiana Jones took my breath away.

You achieved such a result not merely in gathering such a gear but the way you wear it is often beyond what I see in the movie.

Your friendly enthousiasm to appreciate our strain to build a decent gear always is refreshing.

could you do me a favor and measure the space between the yoke and the top shoulder seam on the edge of the armhole? do you get 4'' or 3.5'' ?

Well, that jacket looks awesome!! I love it, and I would like to see that soft goatskin in person. I ordered a goatskin jacket just after Peter started carrying it again (he hadn't for about 2 years prior) and I thought I had the soft goatskin, but clearly I do not.

I'm just so confused about how you got those specs, Cyrano, when you didn't order them. I mean, I wish every Wested custom standard looked like the one you got. Usually customers have to bend over backwards, write a list of specs, make calls, e-mails, and pray to the jacket gods to get a jacket like the one you got. And you got that jacket without even listing all those details.

But anyway, this is besides the point. You have an awesome jacket, so enjoy it and wear it well. :TOH:

you got 5'' between the shoulder seam and yoke seam on the armhole edge? that cant be right. it can be right if you measured from the middle neck and down to the yoke. then yes.
