Marshall College project: the complete outfit

Post by steerpike »

Image

I've waited to write a review of my Marshall College suit from Magnoli Clothiers for a couple of reasons: firts, I wanted to find an appropriate location for the shots, and then I was waiting to receive from Indy Magnoli the complete outfit to do a complete work on the 'Marshall project'.
I found an interesting location just near my house, is a very old Abbey, founded by a greek monk Nilus the Younger, about 2.000 years ago. If you're interested, you can find here on wikipedia its history: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Nilus_the_Younger

Then, the Marshall suit was uncomplete without the right shirt, tie and shoes of course. Magnoli provided to the perfect tie, as you see it on his website, and created for me a SA shirt in cream. I provided to find a very good old fashion italian shoes, great classic style, named Campanile. And though you can't see them, I wear under the vest a couple of Albert Thurson beige suspender, just for sake of completeness.

I tryed my best to recreate an 'academic Jones' flavour in these pics, I used a couple of books, and one of those is the "Indiana Jones Diary" wrote by Magnoli, my tribute and sincere thank for his amazing work, that for me is a masterpiece.

Steerpike

i'll chime in too. very very nice. this is my favorite suit as well. i'm saving up to purchase this one in the near future.
i was curious. what are the specs of this one?
( color and material type )
looking at magnoli's website, i've always wondered on what the specific movie color was. i would have to say that it was med. brown, however, magnoli himself is modeling the suit in med. gray and it appears very s.a..
what did you opt for?

Those are some great photos! :TOH:

The fabric we used on steerpike's suit is a gorgeous pure wool tweed in a color that my suppliers call "grey", though I find it a very warm grey that could easily be called brown. :?

If you order the brown or the grey pure wool on the Marshall Suit, I would recommend this for either (along with a couple of other choices for those who would want something more true brown or grey).

Kind regards,
Magnoli

THIS has been a project that I have been putting off for awhile, and am still going to have to put off for awhile, because the blue Washington suit is going to come first (I'm going to get married in it!)

But when the time comes, my friend, I'm going to hit you up big time for info!

YOU LOOK FANTASTIC!! I'm super impressed! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

=P~ =P~ =P~ =P~

Shazam! Now that is one good looking tweed three piece. All you need is the glasses to finish off the look to perfection. Great job Magnoli!
Congratulations steerpike!

Cheers!

Dan, take a look at Steerpike's original post in this thread. He has one photo with glasses on, altough I would like to see more, too, and with the hat.

Steerpike, these are terrific shots and you have a great looking suit. I think that once I get a job and can save up for it, that will be the next suit I order. It will be great for a big swing dance, too.

Do we really see Indy in any of the movies with both his glasses and hat on at the same time?

Thank you! Actually I think Indy uses glasses only for reading, and, of course, here I was trying to recreate a Raiders atmosphere. But in the future I'll take time to do some 'Barnett College' shot, with the LC hat as well! ;)

Ah, when I originally viewed this thread that image hadn't showed up (got a little box with a ? in it). Thanks for the heads-up.

Cheers!

Steerpike,
Can't wait sir. I always thought the LC suit with the hat was a good combo.
