How do you use acetone on a Wested Lambskin jacket?

Post by Doctor_Jones »

I was thinking about that the other day cos a friend of mine bought 5 liters of acetone from a friend of his. I read here in the forum or in the old forum that you can use that product to distress a jacket. But keep in mind I don't have pecards so I need to find another leatherproduct for my jacket to rub it in afterwards.
But the question was, how much acetone do you need? And what is the best methode to do it?
Thanks in advance!

How do you do it? Very carefully. If you have enough guts to do this to a brand spankin' new jacket, then I applaud you, I think. MK is the the man to talk to about this process and the link that Rab provided is where all the info is. I would e-mail MK if you have any further questions. Hope this helps.

Doc Jones,
Just for some info, I just started this process on my jacket as well. MK intructed me NOT to use pecards on the jacket when I was done distressing with acetone. That it would reverse the effect I was trying to get. The one question I am curious about is, does the acetone leave a funny smell on the leather when done??
Cheers!

I aged my jacket and there was no smell at all. Good luck!
