Vintage CS Mallory on ebay

So, I scored a vintage Mallory on ebay last night and was taken aback by how curiosly similar the crease was to the CS hat. Then I saw the specs and they are the CS specs: 2 3/4 brim and 5 1/2 crown. It is an Open Road style with the narrow ribbon, and a tan color, but the unique thing is it has a Cavanagh Edge, which I've never seen on an Open Road. Anyway, this further proves the theory that Indy's hat IS a classic fedora.

Nice win! I was "watching" that hat to see what it would go for. Not my size and out of my range, but a very nice hat.

I am a 23 1/4 and this is 23 1/8 so there is a 1/8" difference there. Its small enough that I probably won't notice and will stretch out by itself. If not, a hatjack will take care of that extra 1/8". I think it went for a great price and had some extra cash so I went for it. Plus the wife just got some new shoes so I pulled the "one for you, one for me" card. It worked.

Did I really outbid you one this hat Travis? Boy, I'm sorry...not really...but I'm sorry. I'll be sure to post some pics when I get it so you can see some good shots of it.
