Wested shirt - Your thoughts

Post by Zoltar »

This is my first post so Hi everyone.

I've just made first steps down this road and just recieved my first items, an of the rack Wested Raiders lambskin and a Wested shirt. The size 40 jacket fits perfectly but the medium shirt seems way too baggy around the shoulders. Before I exchange for a smaller one what are your thoughts on this shirts, straight from the pack all the pleats and pockets are completly flat, does it just need washing and wearing to develop the wrinkled textures around the stitching or shall I get a refund and look elswhere for a more SA shirt.

I'm based in the UK so Wested in a good option for me regarding shipping and Customs charges.

Any opinions or suggestions are much appriciated.

Cheers Andy.

Well first of all welcome to COW Zoltar. I hope you find all great types of gear items that you are looking for. Now what kind of shirt are you looking for? Raiders? Last Crusade?? If your looking for Raiders and looking for SA you might as well look elsewhere for a shirt. WPG or What Price What Glory has a good shirt for a good price and it looks SA. If you are wanting probably the most SA shirt that you can find I would go with an AB, but that is just me. I have two ABs and one Wested shirt, the AB I am not sure what the price is still, I think it was around 65 Euros at one point, not sure if it still the same price. You pay more, but you get a very high quality shirt, at least that is my opinion. You can contact Kim at AB about the shirt, I will have to find his e-mail since I got mine off of Marc at the time. If your looking for an LC I would go with Azuma's shirt, I took a look at it and it looks awesome. There are a lot of choices when it comes to shirts, so maybe others can chime in with there opinion.

Thanks IndianaChris

It's the Raiders shirt I'm after, I've already PM'd Marc over on the RPF about an AB, just waiting for a reply. I'd appreciate any contacts you can give me.

Cheers Andy.

Zoltar, there's plenty of information about the various shirts and manufacturers in the threads here as well as on the main site. Pull up a chair and do a little research and homework, play around with the search feature, and you'll find a ton of information. :TOH:

I know what your saying binkmeisterRick.
I went off a bit half cocked with the shirt It just seemed a good option ordering it with the Jacket and Pants. The Jacket I love already and even after a week of wear looks better everyday and the pants will be spot on after a trip to the tailors.

I've just got my wested shirt refund back from Paypal so thats the end of that one.

Now Im a member here and I've got my head on straight with the help of you guys, a bit of time and informed consideration it's time for me to put together some gear to be proud of.

Cheers

If your interested in the AB Shirt you need to contact Kim who also does the AB Holster as well and the buckle I think too. i found his e-mail in another thread. It is kim@flugel.dk hopefully that is the right one. It is best to e-mail Marc or Kim or pretty much with any vendor, they rarely read PM's. I hope that helps some. As Bink said use the search feature, sometimes you can find what your looking for pretty quick, other times it takes some digging around.

I did a comparison of some of the shirts on offer a little while ago. My favourite is still hands down the NH, there are a few nitpicky details but the fit and fabric are fantastic.

Go and dig it out the post for more details. :)

As a mostly lurker here, I read a lot of old posts but always appreciate repeated questions as it helps remind me to look at this hobby/obsession with new eyes.

I tend to go for a more ROLA look and really like My Todd's shirt for that. I like the fit of my Wested, but it just doesn't get the roughed up look I like. Right now it is being worn by a skeleton for that Dr. Bones look.

AB and NH are apparently great shirts, but I have no experience with them.

Cheers

Well I've now got an AB shirt, the fit is perfect and after throwing it in the washer It took on the look I'm after and after a few hours wear it gets better and better!

Kim was helpfull with sizing and it arrived to the UK in no time at all, Thanks Kim.

Everything's coming together nicely :). Should soon have enough gear for some shots togged up!

Wow that was pretty quick. Glad you like the AB shirt, looks great after washing it doesn't it. Glad Kim was able to get you one sent out pretty fast. You'll soon accumulate so much gear you soon won't know what to do with it all. :[ I have all the gear, but then its like you get multiple shirts, multiple pants, jackets, hats, you get what I mean. ;) Glad the AB shirt was what you were looking for.
