"good enough" - "close second" boots
Who has come across a "good enough" - or "close second" boot? Something that looks strikingly close - was mass produced and I could probably find on ebay for around 20 bucks used?
Those of you who don't have Aldens, J Crew or Red Wings, what are YOU wearing?
thx in advance,

Sketchers Ripsaws. They have another shoe that's similar, but I forget the name.

Well, I figured you might find them cheaper if used. Honestly, though, I doubt you'll find anything new for less than that. The Sketchers were the least expensive close-enoughs I have ever found, used or otherwise. I think they were very popular around here before Todd's boots came along.

oh yea to be sure... I scrolled though 12 pages of costumes here and found these other fan favorites....
Crazy Horse – Dr. Martens
Timberland Workaday
Johnson & Murphy Trafford boots
J. Crew Ruggeds
Hippopotamus boots
Rockports
Even with doing low-ball math a low end Indy Costume will still set me back about $350-400

Frye Arkansas boots. I love 'em. Had them for nearly three years, worn the heck out of them, and they are still going strong.

I have a pair of brown boots I bought from a surplus store. I don't know the brand
Re: "good enough" - "close second" boots
I was tempted by a pair of Sketchers very close looking but the sole was really off...flat, no heal , very light in colour and looked more like it belonged on a pair of UGG boots.
I could have had them resoled but at £60/$90 I was not gonna do that to a new pairt of boots.
My old brown Rockport waterproof boots are good enough at a third of the price.
