Me and my Wested lambskin Raiders jacket, 1 year in

Post by Indiana Whit »

Hello, all, hope the last year or so has been good to you, and that you haven't eaten any bad dates. It's been a long time since I was here- been a very busy year, and having lost my job I've been preoccupied with getting a new one (no luck just yet- last place I called told me that I was up against over 1200 other applicants for one position).

This fall I got to take my Raiders lambskin on it's very first trip, about 5,000 miles round trip down to the south west, through the national parks of Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico, and even saw Dorothy's house from The Wizard of Oz on the way back through Kansas going up from Texas. I took it through the Rocky Mountains, where we got a flat and I ended up looking at interesting rocks for a few hours before help arrived, the Colorado National Monument, Arches National Park, Dead Horse Point, Canyonlands, Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, the North and South Rims of the Grand Canyon, where I hiked down into the Canyon (not for the out of shape!) and back up (the hard part), Bandalier National, Petrified Forest National, and more! Note to Indy: leather+hot Arizona sun+hiking for 10 miles up a Canyon wall= not the best idea;)

Anyway, here is one of me at the Canyon- sorry the jacket isn't that well lit, the sun was setting as I had just gotten back up. Or maybe this was the day before, in which case the sun was still setting. Either way.

Actually, here's the one the day after, when I had just gotten back up

sorry if any are too big, I was pretty sure I re-sized it

Here's hoping to a better new year, one with a job that pays well enough for me to finally get as close to a SA fedora as I can, and of course the lovely shoes :P

My thanks again to the fine folks at Wested leather for the beautiful jacket- it is the first jacket I have owned which I have gotten multiple 'nice jacket' comments on- odd thing to be complimented on, but I'll take it!
