Thanks for taking the time. Since some are custom and with the shipping prices be different for people out of the US. It's hard to set up a shopping cart button

Very true-I haven't ever done it with PP because I don't sell anything, but with the order form, maybe just have your web designer do a button that figure it up. PP has a few pages on how to design buttons that integrate into your website and use shipping tables and what not based on US and NON-US destinations that could streamline some of that for you. If im reading is right you can assign variable functions to some of their pre-done stuff to customize it. You'd probably have to set up a line for each item on your web site, though, so hat, rabbit would be 1 price, then add water repellent, another price line, bound edge, another price line, etc. All the options would have to be laid out in price, and then Domestic shipping looks like it could be automate with shipping tables.

Or maybe just change it so they send you the order form from your site and then you just invoice people based on it from your end of the paypal transaction. Then you have total control, and the buyer doesn't have to send two forms from two different websites.

https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?&cmd ... d_overview

I could research it (the button thing) a bit to see what i can come up with. I did some light web-application development in college as part of my MIS degree.

Thanks for your time. Most of the time i have people summit the order and I send them a paypay bill. Or if they pay by check or , money order I send them a e-mail with the amount. I thought I would keep it simple. This way the customer won't forget something.

Re: Ordering a Henry-process?-Hat Received!

Post by Alathea_Squared »

I got my Henry today-holy @#$% fast for coming from Oregon!

I had John put a turn in it, but im finding as I reinforce the creases while I sit here that I keep wanting to recrease the centerline back to the regular center so my front crease ends up at an angle. Has anyone else found themselves absent mindedly reinforcing their new hat creases back to the 'wrong' direction? My last Fed didn't have a 'turn' in it, I think that's why. My brain keeps trying to bring the bash back to the right. I also keep absent-mindedly trying to center the hat on my head to the crease instead of just plopping it on my head with the tag in the back. Am I crazy?

Ive had it for about an hour, so If I try to re-bash it without the turn, but straight down the center it should take, right?

For the first couple of weeks I would suggest t put your hat on in front of a mirror. Or at the very least check where the front crease is after it's on your head. Do this until the crease really settle and then you wont need to touch the crown at all.

To answer your question. You should if the crease isn't very tightly place in.

So, just to make sure, when I put on the had I wear it with the crease in the center, or the rear tag centered? I think thats part of it. I alway put a hat on tag centered in the back. That might be why it feels/looks strange to me. I need to wear it to the crease, right?

This thing is amazing. My daughters were petting it-its so soft. Thank you very much for all your time and conversation-you must live in here....

If your hat is turned the stitching that joins the sweatband in the back will be worn of center.

I just found a post that confirms that-search is my friend. A turned hat is worn at the crease, not the tag. Good to know. Thanks!

So the turn affects the brim, but there is nothing keeping it from being reshaped back to center, unless it was made that way, correct? (are hats actually made that way, or is it just the shaping that does it?)

Try looking at this and see if this clears things up.

It was 250, with 20 shipping and 3% for paypal. If it says 270 base now, add shipping and PP and that's probably the new price. But....im not John.

I'm must be doing something wrong. I just worked on the. Site for an hour and it's still confusing to some.

270 for the Henry. That's in US dollars. 20 for shipping in the US and if you pay by paypal add 3% ( they hit me with 3% , so I have to pass that on). This is with no penman bengaline hat box.

I hope that clear things up.

I heard that!

I'll tell you how much my wife obeys me: last night she came crawling to me on her hands and knees.

She said: come out from underneath that bed and fight like a man!
srsly: you need to tell the Boss how much more expensive golf is and maybe she'll relax and let you order a hat.

I could always tell her I dropped out of my other hobby, car audio, but she wouldn't believe me... especially now that I have new equipment coming in. #-o

UPDATE: My Henry arrived today. I'm not disappointed at all. It is a great hat.
Before I review and post pics here, I'm going to see if there is a "Post your Henry pics" thread.

Thanks John. And Marc.

Only when I get my Henry can I officially feel I am a member here. A COW member without an Indy fedora is like being a part of a Yacht club but not owning a Yacht.
I will be watching the mail this week like a Hawk!!

Well, if it's any consolation to know this while you suffer through the wait... you've chosen extremely well.
Whether it's from doing your homework or sheer luck, having a Henry as your very first fedora is probably a bit like joining that Yacht Club you mentioned and buying a luxurious 100 footer as your very first "boat".

Thanks! I actually did quite a bit of research, figuring out all the options vs price vs availability - all based on my needs and wants.
I needed a fedora in time for my vacation to FL in March, on a limited budget, but did not want to settle for a lower end hat, even some of the more well recieved versions like the Akubra. As an avid collector, owning a handmade CS from Marc is the end all, but I did not have the money or time to invest...weighing in all those factors, the Henry was really the best choice - and the timing of it could not have been more perfect, considering the special arrangement I have with John (thanks again John).
I'm still on Johns wait list for a custom, but I will be having him do a yellow Tracy hat instead of another Indy. I just got engaged so there is no need at this point to spend more money just to have two Indy hats.
But down the road, who knows. I may end up getting another Indy - but it will likely be one of Marcs from his new Raiders block.
