Thoughts on Speedy Toys UHC Model 131?

Post by fuzzjunk »

Hello, I just wanted to get some input on this air soft gun from speedytoys.com:

http://www.speedytoys.com/shop/item.asp ... 635&catid=

I also wanted to know if I would have any issues fitting this into Todd's "Raiders" holster. I know in another thread I read that someone had problems with the gun being to big for the holster, but it was a different model gun from speedytoys.com.

Any input would be very helpful.

I have one. I actually ordered a gun that was more accurate, and the company I ordered from sent me one of these.

here: http://www.shortyusa.com/airsoft.html?h ... 7&CA=&RID=

It's poop (is that a bad word?) as an Indy type. S&W had "J" frame and "K" frame revolvers (and several others), and it's my understanding they did this after experiencing problems with higher power rounds in the smaller framed revolvers, so they beefed them up.

Well, the BEEFED up frame size doesn't really fit in a holster designed for the smaller frame (raiders holster).

There was a thread going around where someone modified a similar one they bought from Todd's Costumes.

Aside from being fun too shoot racoons getting into the trash, and the high fps from the green gas, I would say pick something else for a raiders gun.

but check the bay, because that's a really inexpensive gun that a lot of suppliers sell.

Fuzz,
I concur with what Raiders said about what to order. I got the exact revolver (HFC FBI Issue .38 Special Gas Airsoft Revolver, Black) from the exact seller (Shorty USA) at the link he provided. Bummer that they are sold out (as of this writing).

Now you could wait for one to become available there or you can go here: http://www.kapowwe.com/Merchant2/mercha ... ore_Code=R

According to what I saw there, Kapowee has them in stock and ready to ship. I never dealt with them so don't blame me if they stink to order from.

So what can you do with one of these airsoft deals since their magna grips and t-adapters are all wrong?
Well, I've already answered that question with a little work and you can check out the results on my flickr page.

There's also a side-by-side with an original S&W 1917 for comparisons as well as a few shots of Todd's Raider's holster and how it goes with the revolvers.

Here's a preview.

Thanks for the good info everyone, I am just now deciding how much I want to spend on the revolver. The FBI .38 is nice and looks to fit the holster great.

How much would it be for the gas needed for the gun? I don't know that much about airsoft guns. I would like to use it a bit if am going to spend the money, I think it might be some fun.

Either place should sell the gas, but in some research I've found where Green Gas is said to be the same gas as the propane in the little green bottles one would use for camping. Those airsoft places even sell an adapter that goes on those tanks to fill the guns. Additionally in that research I found where you may have to oil/grease the action if you go this route, but I'll leave that for you to find that in-the-weeds level of information.
Honestly, I just don't know enough about it to be spreading that news. Best to check with the sellers of the airsoft guns. They should know the straight story.
