10ft Nylon Raiders with darker ring knot

Post by classicbullwhips »

Hey Guys,

It's been awhile since I have posted any new pictures of my nylon whips due to not having changed anything and staying with the current version I am making. I did recently however get some light brown para cord to replace my tan which I had been using but just ran out of. The last of the tan went for a 10ft raiders style, but I got to thinking that I would use a piece of the new light brown for the ring knot. I think it gives even more of a raiders look and feel. What do you guys think.

Looks great!

I'm thinking of using the color: Flat Dark Earth paracord for my next nylon Indy whip. I used chocolate brown last time which I like, but it looks a bit darker than the whip in raiders.

What would be the next closest color paracord that is a bit lighter then the chocolate brown?

I have also a question about paracord color. What is best color for nylon Indy whip? There are two "shades" of natural tan roo hide
- a bit greyish - http://www.davidmorgan.com/product_info ... cts_id=409
- a bit yellowish - http://www.northernwhipco.com/images/10 ... llwhip.JPG
I know that it depends on hide, tanning and plaiting soap application.
The first one looks similiar to tan paracord.
But what color is best to reproduce the second one? I am considering gold from Ubraidit. What do you think guys?

The whip in the picture is Tan, and the ring knot is coyote brown, but one of the next colors that I want to get in is gold. It really is not gold like you think but more like a golden brown (looks close to natural hide color I think) There are many different colors of brown/tan and everything in between, it all depends in what you think looks best.

If it is not a secret, what manufacturer's gold paracord are you going to use? Do you have a pics of their color chart?
I was looking through internet and colors from almost every manufacturer varies. I think the gold from Ubraidit is pretty good, but I just base on that pics.

In all honesty I don't know yet I have ordered paracord from a few places and have another one that I am going to check out (different vendors products can have variation in size and texture) Currently I am working on getting full line of color samples from different vendors so I can see what they offer (never hurts to look around).
