Two news whips

Post by giovanniceleste »

Hi Guys
These are 2 whips made recently by me.
Both whips were made for a friend of mine, which is also a new member of the Cow.
He has a great collection of whips made from great whipmaker such as David Morgan, Joe Strain, Bernardo del Carpio, Terry Jacka, Page, Luie Fox.
I apologize if I have forgotten other important whipmaker. [-o<

I hope you like it
Happy Christmas
Gio

Whips are exceptional, do with the whip cracking whips of John is a beauty, I also tried on wet ground and seems not to hear the difference.
Thanks John, for my part I can be considered among the best whip makers in the world.
Now I'm waiting for a Bernie whip and Schultz whip, then I will show my whole collection.

Thanks Emanuele
You are very kind and I appreciate your compliments but I know that I have to learn many things in the world of whipmaking.
When I build my whips I always learn something.

Pretty good work Gio,

Just some questions please!

-how long is the stockwhip's handle please and what did you use for it, wood, cane, fiberglass?

-How did you dye the handle of the indy bullwhip?

again good job!

Dear JP,
thanks for the compliments about my whips.
The handle of the stock whip is 50cm long ( 19.685'' ).
For the handle of the stock whip I use a metal bar that I clothe of varied layers of bolsters in order to give right weight and tapered shape.
About the handle of the young whip I not dye the leather but I use two different skins:
one for the handle and one for the thong of the whip.
I hope that my explanation was clear for you.
Thanks for your interest
