That sucker is in really good shape after 25 years - very nice! The hitch must have gotten worn down through use - looks like they undid that & the thong before rebraiding and attaching the new fall.

Hey, Wait!!!! That's my whip!!!! LOL!!! I just recently sent that in for the fall replacement and yes, you are correct that they took about three inches off I guess to rebraid - seems so after measuring.
And the butt was replaced too after the wristloop rotted away a few years back.

I THINK Lee Keppler still has one from that time too because we met in 1985 or so and both had our 10' Morgans.
Its a VERY supple thing now - still has good body to it but a supple thing. I don't crack it very much anymore but it still gets used.
I have a standard 8' T. Jacka whip that I mess around with now - the Morgan is more for Halloween and stuff at this point.
