Just ordered my second Indy Jacket (Updated 1-3-10)

Post by John Falcon »

After my first Indy jacket, a Wested Last Crusade lamb (which suffered a horrible fate http://indygear.com/cow/viewtopic.php?f ... 79#p623379) I today ordered a Wested Raiders washed goat.

I’m pretty excited, hopefully I got the measurements right, neither I nor Wested was able to locate my order from May 2008.

I'll post photos as soon as it comes in. :)

Good luck Falco, somehow the term 'restraining order' always comes to mind when remembering your lamb jacket :-

I thought of typing one up just for the jacket and handing it to her. I don't cair if she wants to knee me in the groin again, just don't hurt my jacket.

...maybe a garlic clove around the neck....or a silver bullet might work? :P

We've got to keep these Indy jackets in tact. Priorities here! :whip:

My jacket came in on the 29th. DHL dropped it off with a neighbor since I wasn’t home. Luckily the neighbor’s weren’t thieves. Sheesh. UPS/FedEx/Post Office NEVER does that.

My first jacket was a LC lamb. This one is a Raiders washed goat. Of course it feels heavier than my last jacket. I like the look of the washed goat. It looks pre-loved, but not to the point that it looks abused, if that makes any sense.

I wish I ordered it just a tad longer and the sleeves a bit longer too. This one fits me in the chest better though. My third jacket should fit perfect hehe.

I started over with my hat so it’s kinda goofy right now. I couldn’t find my brown web belt so I’m going with the tan one for the photos.

I think the length in the body looks fine. In the one photo the jacket is hanging askew but I think if it were hanging even the sleeve length wouldn't look too far off.

I had the camera on timer..so I apparently didn't straighten my jacket as I ran to pose.

I miss my lamb (was damaged and then the post office lost it), but that goat is pretty cool. I think I'll get another in March with my extra pay. ;)

I think these days all post office overseas mailings have some basic insurance unless you purchase more, at least that is my impression. I hope you were able to get some money from the loss of your lamb jacket

Yeah I had the insurance on it.

I gotta go down tomorrow and throw a fit. I have the receipt but not the copy of the customs form that the post office claims they gave to me. (They didn't)

She didn't use her nails...she doesn't have any....she tugged and the leather tore.

My local post office said the jacket I mailed back is stuck in England, as they claim Wested refused delievery. When I e-mailed the company, they said a package came in on a different date than mine, and that package required $$$ for customs. Mine shouldn't have needed any, the forms and the package itself note the contents are being returned for alterations/repair. So I have no clue what's going on.

Just got a bill for $22 something from DHL for shipping. This is for my Radiers jacket, not the damaged LC one that is lost somewher.

Anyone get this? Didn't Wested already charge me for shipping?

Ouch. One nice thing about living in Australia, I guess. I've never paid any custom fees or handling fees or such for any of the jackets I've ordered from the UK or USA.
Just the shipping price. Mind you, we probably pay more for shipping in the first place due to the distance involved.

I've never had a good experience with DHL International shipments. Something usually happens like that.

I'm not thrilled with them dropping it off at a neighbor's because I wasn't home either.

Weird....I think my first jacket came US mail, no bills either.

I think they used to use Airsure and/or ParcelForce which come through regular mail carrier here..

That sounds like a customs brokerage/handling fee. You seem to have got off paying any duty which is good. Have a look closely at the bill to see exactly what it is.

On stuff from the US I've paid a brokerage fee and the customs totalling about $100 on a jacket before.

Back in October I mailed back my first Indy jackey (a LC lamb) for repair. It apparently never made it to Wested and my Post Office is giving me the runaround on the insurance because, while I have the recepit, I don't have some sticker that they never gave me.

Grrrrrrrr......I'm still fighting that.

Anyways...the other day I ordered another Indy jacket, a LC Novapelle....I'm excited.

You're lucky then. I had to pay around $140 Aust when I got my Wested in 2003. It's hit and miss. Sometimes they charge, sometimes they don't. My G&B came without anycustom fees.
