Zipped...

Post by ZeusCow »

In everyone's opinion, which Wested looks better zipped up with the flap closed?:

The Crusade or The Raiders?

Thanks!

Hi Zeus

I don't own a LC jacket so can't tell you about that, but my opinion is that (if the jacket fits correctly) then they should look equally as good as one another. The LC might just have the edge because of the press studs, but aside from that there is little difference I believe? Anyone?

If you look at Ford in both Raiders and in LC, you can see both jackets look OK when zipped up. I personally think they look better unzipped, but asthetics are shoved to one side when an icy wind starts blowing my way

I think it looks awesome when it's half-zipped (to the top of the pockets). Try it sometime, and you'll see!

I always loved this look:

This pic isn't exactly the point in the film I'd have liked to have a pic from...but when Indy runs up when the Sherpa is about to shoot him in The Raven bar, and Marion shoots the guy in the back of the head...watch the way his jacket moves, partially zipped up. Really cool looking.

Cheers,
Cassidy

PS - I'm sorry to the Indy Experience for ripping off their photo.

Oooo yeah... definatly the Raiders, Thanks...

Yeah, I re-read your post and misunderstood what you were getting at. Sorry. Personally, and I stress personally, it could be the addition of the tie, but I always saw the LC jacket zipped as (and I know this is weird) "dressier" than the Raiders version. It seems to have a lot more weight to it comparitively, despite being made from the same materials (I assume).

There's a huge difference between this:

And the sequece I mentioned from Raiders.

Why is this? I'm thinking it could be anything from different skins/hides to Ford's changed body type, as well as perhaps a slightly different cut.

This is where I'd defer to the experts here...I'm still scratching in the dirt,
gear-evolutionanary wise, so to speak.

Cheers,
Cassidy

Whoops - not to mention the fact that in the Raven sequence the jacket is only partially zipped up, as opposed to the LC pic I posted. Sorry.
