Show us your (at least) one year old Nowaks

Post by Raskolnikov »

So it's being more than one year since Tony started making CS jackets and, more or less, one year since he began repicating the Raiders.
Those of you who are owners of one year old Nowaks, could you share with us your impressions (and, more specifically, some pictures ;) )?
How do they look now that they are a little older...? Do you find them much more wrinkled, distressed... etc?
I am also very, very much interested in seeing how does the shrunken lamb look once it becomes used and broken in.

(And, yes, I do already have two Nowaks, although neither of them are one year old yet. It's just that I am such a fan of this jackets... And I thought it would be a good idea to see those one year old worn jackets all together in just one thread)

Thanks a lot :TOH:

Being home sick today, I was just enjoying my #12 CS on a jaunt out to find firewire cables. It's lightened up a bit, but has broken in nicely. Yesterday at the doc's office, the nurse went to weigh me and commented that the jacket must've been adding weight. I took it off and got to my actual weight and she said 'wow, can't imagine carrying that around.' To which I answered, 'no I love this jacket…it feels great.'

No pics at the moment, but I'll try to get some soon.

Yeah, CS it's a heavy jacket... Girls usually notice at first glance those kinds of things... :-k :D

Ha! Funny, I was just thinking about how we post our jackets when we first get them, but don't have follow up picks when they really start looking good! Thanks Rask! I can't wait until next year when I can show off this Raiders jacket in this thread :)

This 'one year' post will likely get more attention than if itwere posted in the original Nowak jacket thread.

Wait for the 'two year' thread ;)

Baldwyn, I just have seen your 'new goat' jacket. That's a real beauty!! Congratulations, mate. Maybe I should change this threads subject, so you can share with us some more pictures of you wearing it: "Show us your one week old Nowaks... (still, they are older)" :Plymouth:

Well, my son decided to throw on my 1-year old CS jacket to play tonight, so I had to take some pics. I figured I'd share this one here as a good representation of what my jacket looks like as of a half an hour ago.

…besides, he's more photogenic than I am anyway. ;)

OK, truth be told, that's me. I shrank in the rain, but the jacket stayed true to form. ;)

Nope. This one's formed to me quite nicely. Its not going anywhere.

Probably not as we'd have enough to use the real things and not rely on CGI. ;)

So everyone's in agreement that the jacket looks better on the kid than any of us? ;)

But on second thought, Mike, you better be careful he doesn't make that a habit, or someday...

I'm looking forward to the pictures lantzn. I'm expecting a phone call from Tony today to discuss some final sizing questions based on pictures of myself I sent him wearing a comfortable jacket. I also sent him a couple pics of your #426 as reference for what I"m hoping for. [-o<

You have an awesome jacket can't wait to see the year one pics!

Cheers,

Heres two pics of my 15 mos old CS (on right) along with week old 'Surrogates' (on left ) for color comparison........Tony does an excellent exact replica of the Surrogates right down to the distressing.....no 'treatments' on the CS just natural wear, skin oils , handling , and throwing on the chair .....

Thanks for sharing, Hatch. Both look gorgeous. Man, the surrogates is simply beautiful =P~ .

Maybe I am imagining things but I find in all the nowaks, no matter what style they are, some resemblance, like if they had a sort of kinship… The leathers and lining Tony uses may have something to do with it.

Thanks guys, yeah as Tony said "It'll be your new favorite".....hard to take it off.....I know it's been shown on Filmjackets with quilted lining, (in the prototype pics from his shop, but you really don't see the lining at all in the film ) , but living in Southeast ,that would only be needed about two weeks a year ....I asked for the lining along with the 'Immigrant Pocket' to make it more usable for me but with the exterior 'Screen Accurate' and man , did Tony come through...as you say .....the ' Man is an Artist ' ........

Man, that Surrogates jacket looks sweet. I think horsehide would be perfect for that style, but Tony thinks horsehide is too boring :) Congrats Hatch, and more importantly thanks for sharing!!! I'm really glad to see someone with that jacket!

Thanks a lot Mitch and Michael.
The jacket is made of goatskin. Tony used to call it 'holly goat' and I don't know if he made any other Indy jacket with this since he changed very soon to the 'vintage goat (shiny and non shiny)' and 'Nowak goat', both of them superb too. Anyway, it's goatskin.
Hey Mitch, when is yours coming?

Hi Rask,
Thanks for asking...
I've had my Raiders 747 for about a week and a half and couldn't love it more!
:)

No one here has seen it yet, though... because unfortunately, a really hectic schedule (and some pretty lousy weather on the days that weren't hectic) means that it was only 2 or 3 days ago that I finally had a chance to get a few photos taken.

It's Sunday morning for me as I write this, and actually I'm about to put together the words and photos for a Thread called "TONY NOWAK Jacket by Riley Barrie" that I'll be posting in the Jacket Forum early this afternoon...

Also: later this afternoon, I'm going to remove all of my original photos and Links from the "Full Gear Shots - Post (and Identify) - Your Stuff" Thread that I started in the Scrapbook Section and in order to be able to post 6 photos and 6 Links of some updated Full Gear shots that show my Raiders in 747 Cowhide.

Hope you get a chance to check them out!
All the Best,
Mitch

Looking VERY forward to seeing your jacket, Fox. I've got a Raiders 747 as well and it's a special, special jacket. And, even though it's almost cliche to say, it really does only get better with time and wear.

Yeah, even after only a week and a half, I've noticed it changing itself to fit me better and act like a "second skin"
I can only imagine how much a part of me it'll feel like after I've had it for a year...

Speaking of which, anyone else out there gonna throw in a few shots of their 1 year-olds?
