One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Jacket - A Wested?
Ok guys, this may seem a little off topic, but I THINK I might have found a wested jacket in this movie. I refer to the one worn by McMurhpy (jack nicholson) during th prologue.
It seems a Raiders jacket to my eyes. I'm no expert, but still there is some resemblance to me.

No - it's a generic A2 jacket knock off. Lot's of them around in the 1960's and 70's.

Well, considering the film adaptation of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest came out in 1975, and Raiders wasn't released until 1981 (never mind Wested didn't really exist as we know them until sometime later than that) I also find it highly unlikely.

very,very unlikely.

It's actually more like an ANJ-3 jacket.
You can see photos of it here
USWings, Gibson and Barnes, and some others make reproductions of the ANJ-3.
It's a combination of the A-2 and M422 jackets of WW2. It just didn't really catch on, the Army airforce replaced it with a cloth jacket and the Navy kept on with it's jacket evelving it into the G-1 that they still use.
Personally I like the ANJ-3.

I think what we really need is a 'Holt Speced Mc Murphy'..........

So the Orange one was a 'Surrogates'..............I've got one coming ,hopefully not in 'Indiana Orange'.....................how'd you like the jacket other than the color _ ?

Yeah, I know. But "Nowak Orange" just sounds too funny not to type._ wrote: That color was really nubuck, not orange. The other orange jacket where BO snapped a pic was a CS in orange with some silkscreens on it.
Personally, I love the back of this jacket. When I win the lottery, I'd love to have a jacket with this back but some minor differences to the front and sleeves.

You might want to get Tony to put a few rhinestones, etc on that 'Nubuck' and go for the 'Rockabilly' or 'Porter Waggoner' direction with the '52 Fender........I still know some people in Nashville...._ wrote:Yep - Bink passed it to me a few days ago.
