Very nice hat and you wear it well! Great pics and review as well. Both John and AB are without question top-notch, high quality -- in terms of people and product! Wear that hat in good health and enjoy comic-con.
Thanks for sharing,
Frank

That is a good looking hat. I like the dusting job you did to it. I wished they had your hat for LC instead of the one in the picture you used as an example. Your Henry looks better than that one. You wear it well, too. It suits you. John's bash job compliments the hat. He knows his felts. Good call.

First of all, let me congratulate you on that fedora, looks #### good and you wear it so well. Awesome!
I've had that exact same problem when applying Fuller's but then I read on this forum that if you filled an old sock with the stuff and beat up the fedora with it, the dust would be distributed much more evenly. So I tried that and it worked like a charm, no specks, so try that when the time comes for more Fuller's.Tundrarider wrote: Distressing: I applied Todd's Fuller's Earth using a soft make-up (blush) brush. The problem was, the earth would go on sort of "speckled" and I would have to brush most of it out to remove the "dots." When I was satisfied I had done all I could with the Fuller's Earth, I went outside and took a few handfuls of "God's own" earth and applied it generously. That's the extent of the distressing so far.

Thank you for the kind words. I think the hat and your tweaking of the bash made that hat. I love the photos. You look BA in them. Enjoy it my friend.

Love the LC hat. Very nicely done. The fullers earth really breaks it in!

As a big LC fan I think this hat looks great, especially with the dirt. And the bash is marvelous and really captures the spirit!

Bottom line, that's all that matters. Excellent review!Tundrarider wrote:
Let me start with a disclaimer: I am far from being a fedora expert. However, I have been a costumer for a long time and have a pretty good eye for what works and what doesn't. I certainly know what appeals to me.

GREAT Review, Tundrarider...
Well written and a pleasure to read!
Plus, those photos are fantastic. That hat is a natural on you.
I can't wait to see some nice photos of you In Gear at ComiCon (you already know what thread I hope you'll post 'em in!)
When I read it, it really made me smile and nod my head in appreciation of BendingOak. Y'know, if there was an extra fee for the many, many phone conversations with John C.O.W. Members have had (and all of the great insight, advise and guidance that comes with them), many of us would owe him a small fortune by now!
He's one in a million and a great guy to deal with.
I'm glad you had the same experience with him that so many of the rest of us have had (and that you took the time to share some words of appreciation about it with us as well!)

I loved reading that.Tundrarider wrote:(We also spoke again at length about his business and hatting in general.) There was no extra charge for the the bashing or the time and advice he shared with me.

I'm coming really late to this thread, but I want to chime in anyway and say what a great looking hat you have, TR! I, too, love that publicity pic with Indy and his Dad, where his hat has that beat-up, wider-spaced front creases, low-crown look. I never thought of trying to bash my Henry that way, though. Works! Seems like the Henry can do anything, much like the Fed IV can, though of course the Henry is a much higher quality hat, and better Indy color.
Great hat and great Indy look!
