Can Pecards cause dye to transfer from a bag to stain whip?

I Pecarded my DM about 8 hours ago and just decided to put it back in its black whip bag from Northern Whip Co. But I'm now getting a bit paranoid that the Pecards will somehow cause the dye of the inside of the bag to transfer itself to the whip. Should I take it out and wipe it completely dry or will it be okay?

I'd take it out of the bag and let it air. Anything that is moist next to something that is so dark would concern me. You never know what the waxes in the pecard might do in relation to the bag. Plus it might stain the bag! JMO.

Okay, thanks Kt, it's out of the bag again, just in case, back on a white towel laid out on the floor. It's only a bit tacky now, so most of the Pecards has soaked in, but I don't want to take any chances. Oh ... do you think a mouse would be interested in eating a whip? I've just remembered we have one running around somewhere.

Well, apart from cheese, I'm not sure what they're into.

Okay, it's now laid out on a white towel (the whip, not the mouse), which in turn is laid out on my bed. Hopefully the mouse isn't a climber.

I personally have never heard of or seen anything like that happening with Joe’s whip bags. The cordura nylon used to make the bags should be colorfast safe, however; the greasy nature of Pecards may cause some staining on the fabric itself especially if it’s a heavy application that could soak into the material. Better to be on the safe side.

I don’t store my whips in carry bags, especially not after they have just been conditioned. I prefer to let them have some air circulating around them while the dressing is absorbed. Laying them out flat in a loose coil after conditioning is fine, putting them on a clean white towel is even better. If you suspect you have mice, your probably better off hanging the whip in a loose coil rather then letting it lay out on the floor or bed where it might be a target for a hungry inquisitive mouse. They will chew just about anything, especially if they think its food.

I have one of Strain's whip bags. I normally Pecard my whips the night before I plan to take them somewhere. Plenty of time to dry into the leather. If you Pecard them and plan to take them later that day, I would remove the excess from the whip. I have never had an issue myself and have had this bag for about 2 years now. No signs of staining or anything.

Thanks for all the advice, guys. It spent the night on the towel next to my bed. I took a gamble with the mouse - I've never seen one on this floor and I put one outside a week ago, so hopefully they're lying low. It's still a bit tacky today, so I'll leave it out a bit longer on the bed.
