After recently acquiring my Jacka CS whip I have a question about how it cracks. I don't know if it would be better in this thread http://indygear.com/cow/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=43923 but I'll ask it here anyway. Is it supposed to only crack one way, as in the natural curve of the whip? I only ask because with my Morgan, I can do side cracks, cattleman cracks, you name it, and it doesn't matter which way the curve is. Is this just because my Morgan is so well "trained" as ADL would say and that I just need to "train" my Jacka until it loosens up?

Re: Jacka CS whip
As I understand it, the Jacka CS was designed for Anthony's style, which is with the natural curve. So your side cracks, cattleman's you name it are are all there, just use the natural curve. This of course requires setting up your alignment with your cracks and being a bit more precise in how the whip is handled. Ride your horse in the direction it's going and you won't be an adversary to the whip but a partner.

It will do multiple combo cracks, it just takes a while for them to loosen up.

Of course! Of Course!
Re: Jacka CS whip
Thanks everybody. So then I should just keep going with the curve, and not try to go against it also in order to "even" the whip out?

If you want it to form a good loop memory, use it in a SA manner and wish to understand the hows and whys of it's construction and use, I'd say no. But it is your whip and you can do whatever you like.
