I got a call

Post by Restless Dreamer »

So I was hanging around in my house with nothing to do when the phone rang.

Guess who? Marc Kitter!

We had a very nice chat during which he has explained me that the Henry I sent him for a reblock some months ago turned out to be "strange". I didn't fully catch the meaning of this - maybe Marc will chime in and explain it again, my english is a bit rusty when coming to spoken language. By the way, if I haven't totally misunderstood him, that particular hat had some manufacturing defect - maybe the rawbody height? Anyway, after reblocking it he noticed there was still something wrong, so he called me to offer me a brand new Henry. I gladly accepted the offer - I wasn't too much fond of that hat, not enough adventures with it, so I don't mind having a new one instead of the old one reblocked.

As I already said, Marc offered me a very generous discount on this particular reblock, due the fact my henry tapered just after two months and he wanted me to be satisfied with the product. Now this.

What can I say...amazing. I just wanted to share this story with you guys, and publicallu thank Marc Kitter :TOH:

Yup, Marc is a real gent, isn't he? He called me as well when my henry was being reblocked this spring (sizing issues on mine though, my fault  ). The funny thing was: he took the time to look up my number as I didn't give it to him. He took all that effort just to ask me if it was OK if he turned mine into a SOC-ish hat  (after which I was going: \:D/ )

So, Yup, he's a real gent.

Yup, Marc is gent alright and took time to talk to me when there was a problem around my Henry order-over one year ago now, but the conversation on matters indy and the shared addiction lingers. :D

I hope to have the excuse to speak to him again soon :notworthy: :notworthy:

I alway love hearing the stories of folks having such classy encounters with vendors! I haven't met any in person but could safely say they'd all most likely be the type of people you'd instantly like.

And congrats on the Henry, Restless Dreamer!

For a moment this sounded like one of those "dream scenarios" where someone is dreaming of Mark Kidder appearing on the lawn and offering to do free hatter work for them. I scanned quickly looking for a "and then I woke up". Nice to hear about the quality of service individual customers can expect in a real life scenario. :)
