Thank you -- the gear quest turned out great!
Hey guys, a few weeks ago, I learned that our personal development conference at a resort in Puerto Rico was going to culminate in a farewell dinner that included a theme of "Life Is An Adventure"......and everyone was encouraged to dress as their favorite adventure characters.
I already owned an AB Deluxe, a Nowak CS jacket and some Alden boots.....but I had plenty of gear to track down and decide on and a short amount of time to do it.
So, thank you for all the assistance you guys provided in helping me put together a great set of gear in a short time period. Here's one of the pics from the event. I think it turned out great:
Thanks again!

Michael, thanks for the kind words. I don't know what was more fun: wearing the costume or actually tracking down and buying all the gear! It's been fun.
The Star Trek officer is my wife, Jessica. We didn't have time to do a Marion costume so she went with her second choice.
Here's a photo of the other side:
Tony, Jessica and our son, Pate.

Forgot to answer this part.Tundrarider wrote:You jacket is really nice. Did you request more distressing? I didn't think the CS jacket was that distressed. Either way, I really like it!!!
When I bought the jacket, I pretty much put myself in Tony's hands, so to speak. I didn't ask for anything "extra"....I just told him I wanted a jacket as close to what appeared in the film as possible. So, other than a very light application of Fuller's earth in spots, that jacket is pretty much exactly as I received it.
Incidentally -- and I'm not telling anyone something they probably don't already know -- dealing with Tony Nowak was a pleasure. I can't wait to order something else from him. Same can be said for dealing with Marc Kitter. It's very cool that two of the coolest pieces of gear come from two of the nicest people I've ever dealt with.

Actually Pate wasn't in costume and had only popped in to eat dinner with us and was heading back to the hotel room. But, when he got there he wished he'd chosen a costume. So he went down to the hotel sundries shop, bought a baseball cap and spent the rest of the evening looking at me and saying, "You cheat, Dr. Jones!".
Doesn't look a THING like Short Round AT ALL....but he had fun making people laugh.

So, he was being who he's supposed to be. Himself.

Great gear, TonyRush! You and your wife look terrific. That sounds like it was a lot of fun. At my first job in the tech industry we used to do things like that. We had a Halloween party every year with a "best costume" contest, and everybody dressed up. It was always a blast.

Tony, you look great in your gear, and so does Jessica. Can you share where you got her Star Fleet officer dress?
Re: Thank you -- the gear quest turned out great!
She actually got it at a local costume shop here in Dothan, AL called "Out On A Whim".
It's an officially licensed Star Trek costume, though, so I imagine there are a lot of places online that also carry it.
I hope that assists!
