Shia wearing Harrison's hat!

Post by Flash Gordon »

Around lunchtime today, I stopped in a pizza joint at Bleeker Street and 7th Avenue here in Manhattan, and on the wall were the usual photos of celebrities who've eaten there.

One caught my eye...it was Shia LaBeouf standing between two of the pizza parlor guys and he was wearing:

A BROWN INDY HAT!

I asked the pizza guy if Shia was wearing Harrison's hat and he said, "It sure looked like it."

How about that!

IIRC, Harrison did give him a signed fedora after filming was over. :-k

Shane,

That is very correct. If you are as uber nerd as I am, and you have copy of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - A photographic Journal by David James, you will see it's true. My copy arrived today and is just inches away on the table next to the computer. Check out Shia holding an autographed hat on page 162.

I don't know if I'd actually wear the thing around. Especially to pizza joints. I'd probably keep in in a glass display case at home. But then, I'm not a movie star. :TOH:

A year ago, I'd have agreed with you. Now, it seems I have too many things sitting around on display, and not enough useful things. What good is a hat that can't be worn? Besides, it's not like there's an endless supply of Adventurebilts out there. Steve will retire someday, and all our hats will be relics. Will you stop wearing yours when this happens?

Although, I would still have trouble wearing that one if it is signed by Ford. ;)

I doubt I'd wear mine if it were signed by Harrison Ford.

If I were wearing my AB and ran into Ford, I'd probably ask him to sign the inside of the sweatband, unless I'm wearing my Wested. Either way, I'll still wear them.

I'm lucky enouth to have two CS ABs. I'll probably stop wearing one and just box it up. Wear the other one as a dress hat, as I usually do. And keep my grey AB to go with suits, when I get it. I don't think I can stop wearing my ABs just because Steve isn't making hats anymore, but I'll certainly be more careful with them.

Nice to see my sweatband in the gift hat to Shia. Yep, Harrisons own hat for sure.

Does anyone have computer and enhancing skills to make the writing on the sweatband readable?

I'll look at the picture in the book when I get home, but I'm 99% sure it says, like Texan Scott reported above, "It's all yours, kid" and then his signature.

Going strictly on memory, I believe it states "Its all yours, Love Harrison"

Harrison is definitely the last word written as that's his sig.

Thanks, guys. I look forward to see if you can confirm. It does appear to read what Mike wrote" "Its all yours, Love Harrison" after I read that.

Yup, looking at the picture in hand, that's definitely what it says.

That picture is really cool. It's always fun and interesting to read about how well Ford and Lebouf hit it off. I don't know if it's like a father-son relationship or a friend-friend equal relationship, but for all of us who grew up with Indiana Jones it's so cool the idea of being buds with your hero.
