Indy upgraded his bag during WWII!

Post by alphared6 »

I had become so accustomed to sporting the Indy satchel (my wife calls it my "man bag") that I soon found it too small for my needs (Perhaps Indy would have too?) So I purchased a replica M-1937 "musette bag" as used by American soldiers throughout WWII and modified it. This bag works much better for me and is still "Indyesque."

Nice work! Where did you get it? I've seen them around the web, but not like that one.

I like it, would be interested to know what your modifications were, and where these can be purchased.

Thanks guys. I looked at a number of repops our reenactors use. The best of the lot is sold by "At the Front." What I did was to redesign mine based on the WW1 and 1920's era "officers" bag (that one was based on the British bag and had a leather bottom). I removed the original attachments, both on the top and bottom of the bag. Using the original straps and some metal rings (like on the Indy bag) I fabricated side supports then added an Indy starp.
