Hi Everyone:

I emailed Steve yesterday regarding my fedora (KOTSC , 23 1/2") ordered on October 9, 2007. I received an email from Steve this morning letting me know that it was on the block and would be sent out the end of this week. :D

Hope this helps those who are wondering where Steve is in his orders.

I emailed Steve a few weeks ago, and He replied saying my name was coming up. I ordered mine November 3, 2007, so considering this has been my first reply from him in almost two years, It shouldn't be too much longer.

Bear in mind that after he gets done with 2007 orders, he doesn't have that many because very few people ordered in early 2008, so you may get it sooner than you think. -M

Received my AB KOTCS today. \:D/
It was ordered October 9, 2007. It is MAGNIFICENT of course!! Thank you Steve!
If I can get my camera working, pictures will be forthcoming. It's been said before, but it really is worth the wait. Hang in there '"Those-Who-Wait"!

I am not sure about Marc's hats, but I know Steve tries to get the hats that sell for $650 out in 6 weeks or less.

I'm still waiting (ever so patiently) on my late December 2007 order. Browsing the old IndyFan vault, I was pleased to find a post by Steve in which he complimented my HJ fedora: http://www.indyfan.com/vault/forum/messages/25476.html

I will gladly return the favor when I receive my new AB! :TOH:

Call me niave, but is this "long" wait time just for CS hats, or does this also include Steve's Raiders hats? Just wondering... :anxious:

Let me correct you on this one. The 650 ones don't get bumped up. Steve works on his day off to get them out in the 6 week timeframe. The other order don't get effected by these at all.

Yep... that's what I've read too. At first I thought it was kinda "unfair" but after reading that one, I saw no problem with it...

I wish I had read this thread before I bothered Steve with my email. I hadn't been here since February, and at that time the existing 'progress report' thread was closed. But yeah, I ordered mine 30/11/2007 and Steve said he was working on 11/2007 hats now.

$650? I'm glad I ordered two years ago -- even if I didn't see that he was offering a discount for members until after I ordered. (Not seeing posts seems to be a habit with me, doesn't it?) Still, $650 seems reasonable for a custom hand-made hat.

Will those of us who ordered back then still be getting beaver hats?

That wouldn't surprise me. I had originally ordered a CS hat, but switched to a Raiders hat once Steve announced his "final" raiders block. My hat went on the block shortly after I switched.

I also wouldn't be surprised if most of Steve's orders mid to late 2007 were CS hats. I mean, why would non-COW members (which makes up most of his orders) order a Raiders hat from the guy who made the CS movie hats?

I arrived in Kabul earlier this week. My impressions after one day that I shared with my wife: this is like a movie setting for modern day war zone Indiana Jones movie. Got the war zone thing going on, the third world country, all the characters one could ever want for extras...just need to add in an element of archeology. Maybe something to do with the giant buddhas the taliban shot up...

Oh, there can't be a bar scene

I think Steve is still working on 2007 orders. I have been hearing from him himself he had some Magnoli orders and some reblocks he has been working on. I am a late January 2008 order, but I gave him my money by check. It really all depends how many orders he has and hat size, he basically fills all the blocks up. So I have no idea where he is right now on hats, all I know is that he said once he got into January orders things would be easier as there were not many orders past that time. I guess you will actually have to wait for an update from the man himself.

Chris,

Thanks for your input. I'll look to forward to your impressions when your hat arrives hpefully later this month.
Don't forget to post a snap shot or two, or three, or four..... :rolling:

As for a new year update, perhaps the man himself might be willing to chime the next time he is posting on the forum.

That way we will all know what's up at the Fedora Factory!

Yikes! Coming up on 2 years. I ordered mine in February of '08, and I thought I would have it be the end of that year. Well, they say that good things come to those who wait. The best thing to do is to forget you ordered one and try not to visit this section of COW to often.

Wow, Nick! Yesterday was six months for me! I spoke to Steve last week and completely changed my order just so John isn't the only hatter I bother the heck outta on these boards  . I had originally ordered a CS train hat. I still have plans to order one before Steve retires. But I have had this image of a hat in my head for years. It is what I would consider MY adventure hat; this is what I would have worn to Tannis. Steve said he'd call before making the hat so that we can iron out the details. I can't wait.

So Dave, are you saying that you are getting something other than an Indy hat from Steve? If so- I cannot wait to see it!!!

I am getting brown Crystal Skulls fedora from Steve. And sometime before Steve retires I would like to get the grey CS train hat! It is one of my favourite hats... EVER!

Yeah, Nick, Its a non-Indy hat...so to speak. I think I want it to come off of his new Raiders block but he has so many vintage blocks that one of those might better serve this hat. It will definately be Raiders-inspired, but it won't be brown and I want a wider brim and ribbon.
