Wested Indy trousers used in CS?
Was looking at some PICS of Indy from CS and the pocket flaps kinda looked like the Wested flaps. Was wondering if the production used Wested trousers in some scenes.
Re: Wested Indy trousers used in CS?
Nope. Aside from submitting jackets for consideration, there was no use of any Wested product on CS.

I thought it said somewhere that they used a Wested shirt as reference.

Do you have a source on this?Bullitt wrote:I thought it said somewhere that they used a Wested shirt as reference.

I think I read it here on COW somewhere. It might also have been that Wested supplied promo material or something. Anyway, Western Costumes indeed made the shirt and pants, so that's what your looking for. However, I don't think they sell to individuals.
Re: Wested Indy trousers used in CS?
They do, but it's $500 a shirt and they can't make the shirt EXACTLY like Indy's, due to trade mark.Bullitt wrote:I think I read it here on COW somewhere. Hmm...you can't actually trademark a shirt. And I'm pretty sure that a patent wouldn't apply either.knibs7 wrote:They do, but it's $500 a shirt and they can't make the shirt EXACTLY like Indy's, due to trade mark.Bullitt wrote:I think I read it here on COW somewhere. I'm not saying that's not the reason they're giving....but it wouldn't be accurate. At best, they can claim that Lucasfilm owns the design for the shirt and they aren't allowed to manufacture it without their permission.

It's a mix up in terms.
They must have signed an agreement with LF/WC not to supply to the general public. Or, they just don't want to.

Sorry this is what I meant, but I was in a bit of a rush and couldn't go into detail, but obviously you got the gist.TonyRush wrote: At best, they can claim that Lucasfilm owns the design for the shirt and they aren't allowed to manufacture it without their permission.

If memory serves, didn't Western Costumes have Anto's make Indy's shirt and pants for the film?
And I also recall reading here that Peter sent over Wested's shirt and pants for them to copy as well...

Re: Wested Indy trousers used in CS?
I don't know the name of the company, but Western Costumes did outsource the shirt and pants.

Re: Wested Indy trousers used in CS?
Didn't I just answer that one?
Re: Wested Indy trousers used in CS?
Yes, but since you stated it as a question, rhetorical or not, I thought I'd back you up. Except I couldn't be sure it was indeed Anto's and I'm too lazy to do a search.
But I'll admit, in hindsight, that my post didn't add anything to the discussion. D'oh!

I knew about Western and Knew about Anto's. Was just wondering about Wested since I thought I read that they supplied stuff to copy.

Re: Wested Indy trousers used in CS?
Thanks _, that explains the different stories. Logically speaking, why would they even bother copying stuff from Peter when they've got access to the Lucas archives to begin with?
Re: Wested Indy trousers used in CS?
I highly doubt they really copied anything from Peter...Bullitt wrote: Logically speaking, why would they even bother copying stuff from Peter when they've got access to the Lucas archives to begin with?

I guess this should be quoted again in this thread:

Then let's just say: "Case closed" on this one and redirect everyone that brings up this topic to this thread in the future.

That's probably not a bad idea since the question was asked, answered definitively at least three times, with nothing more to ad. It's time to bring the curtain down on this one, folks.
