Adventurebilt Status Update Anyone?

Post by Philippines Jones »

Well time really does fly and January seems just like yesterday when I
was reading the boards here to see where Steve was in his Labor of Love.

I can't believe it is time to turn over the calendar to September and all
of a sudden start the beginning of the Ber months.

I understand about the huge backlog of orders caused by the movie which
practically buried Steve alive. Thank goodness he survived.

Mr. Delk's super human efforts have not gone unnoticed, as he has sacrificed
a normal life and has given up so much in order to dig his way out, working like
a bulldog to get caught up. :notworthy:

Given all the circumstances, I was just wondering if any folks have received their
hats ordered late in 2007. And if anyone has heard if Steve said when he plans
to start the 2008 orders ?

I realize that it would take at least two years to see orders placed in May 2008
(that's me), but I was just curious for any feedback. :-k

If anyone can add their 2 cents worth I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank You Very Much! \:D/

I'm still waiting for my Oct. 07 hat, but I have probably the most common head size, so while I really want to have it by the QM summit, I'm not expecting it until next year's QM summit.

Thanks all for clearing up the picture for me.

I find that the best thing about waiting is that I always have something to look
forward to, and that thought always lifts my spirits. :-

Dang, that's the day after I ordered mine. I ordered a 23" though, and as I understand it that's the most common size.

Ordered mine this month. Whats this!? Its already on my doorstep, I must be the most valued customer!

Kidding of course, I didn't even ask. It'll get here when it gets here. I'm hoping I'll forget slightly and it will be the best surprise ever.

Well, to repeat what Steve has posted a couple times, once he's plowed through the 2007 order pileup, the turnaround times will drop dramatically, so some of your arrival expectations may be askew when that happens. ;)

Thanks for the updates, everyone.

Seeing threads like this helps me from getting too nervous about my own order, from May 2008. I know that it really has no bearing on when I'll get my hat, but it is comforting to know the wheels are still turning.

I like the sound of turbos! Patiently waiting for my October 08 ordered CS.

Glad I recently ordered a gray ROTLA (court steps scene) hat from Penman! I'm looking to receive it in November this year. I ordered a beautiful Italian made double-breasted navy pin stripped suit and red tie to wear with it at my son's wedding in November.

Once Steve gets through the late 07 orders I think he's going to be working at the exact same rate and then one day not far down the line he's just going to reach for his order slip and realize he's done. It'll probably hit him really fast.

The unfortunate thing about my size is that he'll probably still be turning out september 07 hats in my size when he's on september 08 for every other size.

I ordered mine 12-07 and I know that when it gets here, I will be pleased. To help pass the time I went out and bought a Harley. I probably would have bought the scoot anyway, but the AB will sure go well with the HD. 8)

I just got an email from Steve today asking if I had received my hat yet. He also said if I hadn't received it yet he would ship it out ASAP! I'm incredibly excited that I'll actually have my AB for this QM summit. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures when it gets here. Now for the scariest part of the wait: Hoping and praying that whoever delivers it follows proper protocol for deliveries and it doesn't get stolen off my doorstep/wherever in the yard it lands if UPS does one of it's standard drive-by deliveries. In this case I actually wouldn't mind having to drive 4 cities over to pick up my package at the shipping center. What shipping method does Steve use?

Awesome, after the last time I had something stolen from my yard the local post office knows better than to leave packages laying around. I gave them #### for a solid week, not that it did any good, I just enjoyed getting some revenge.

That's a sweet fedora! You ordered yours in November 2007 and received the new pyramid-logo liner? That gives me hope, because I really want that liner in my hat, and I heard that Steve wanted to get rid of all of the Ra headpiece liners before using the new ones.

As I understood it, everybody who ordered a CS hat will receive the pyramid liner.

FYI I requested specifically a pyramid liner just because my other two AB's have the staff of Ra headpiece liner. I also asked Steve for my initials punched in the sweatband which he did. I love my new AB too. It may come to the summit with me....and hopefully make it back with me too :P I hear the summit is full of scoundrels..... :D

Bink is more of a wallet type of guy. I hear he has a large collection of wallets that he 'found' in places all over the world. I'll definitely be wearing my AB to the summit as well.

Wow you did luck out. I thought Steve was out of those liners a long time ago. Especially for a Dec 2007 order. I guess that means he is approaching January orders and that is where my hat is. But I don't expect my hat until late this year or early next year. It would be nice as a b-day present in Nov, but I should not get my hopes up. Glad you got a Staff of Ra liner, very very lucky.

Has anyone recently received an Adventurebilt Deluxe from Marc? If so, when did you place your order? I placed my order around a year ago... I have no problem waiting, since I know Marc will produce a masterpiece for me. Just curious if anyone recently had an ABD show up at their door.

Steve, if you're reading this please don't rush the process! I can't speak for everyone but I think that I'm sure that most of us would agree to wait a little longer and get the quality product you produce rather than have you hurry and cut any corners.

Jan '08 and I just consider the wait to be worth it!

I certainly care about Steve's health. I've been in a similar (although much smaller scale) situation to his with the backlog and it had an incredibly negative affect on my health, and I'm in my 20's. I wish Steve the best and a happy retirement when he feels it's that time.

I don't know that is a good question. I know he is not taking anymore orders for hats until Oct 1st, which is around the corner. I know he wanted to use the time to catch up on hats and for personal time as well. Maybe Marc will chime in here, you could try contacting him through e-mail, he may not answer right away, but give him some time and he will get back to you. I was looking for pre-orders for the Grey Henry and jumped on that opportunity. I am probably going to e-mail Steve, cause I have some order changes. I tried e-mailing in the past but nothing got through, at least no reply. I will give it another shot. I sure hope you get your ABD jnicktem soon, as for me I cannot even afford one now with the price hike.

Man, what a wait for these hats! I ordered mine in June of 2007 and received it in June of 2008! :anxious:

It's worth the wait, trust me. Though I'm afriad mine must return for a new sweatband from an error made back when it was made. I just never took the time to return it.
