The goat is wearing in much more than I thought was possible. In some spots it's now softer than lamb. Stupidly soft. The colour is fading all over in patches like it has seen sun and/or hard wear (which it has not). And Holt, the under-coat appears to be very light yellow-brown, not grey...
My question is, does goat normally wear that easily? And does Wested use a "weak" colour that easily fades? I have never had a jacket that has aged with that little amount of wear. I'm not complaining, but I am surprised. It almost looks like I distressed it on purpose, which I hate the idea of.
I actually like the jacket more now than when I got it. I was annoyed at first that it didn't have the same pocket flaps as the film version, but now I care a lot less about SA and more about whether the jacket has the right vibe...
It looks like a cool old jacket, and since I have no interest in the Indy costume (only the jacket) that's okay with me.
My goat G&B which has had much more wear and has even been in the washing machine, looks pristine still. Go figure.
